Bought 3 white riojas in the past as it?s my favourite wine. All were horrible, quite acid. This was surprising as I never had a white Rioja I don?t like, that includes my first taste at a weatherspoons. Assumed just really bad choosing. Then recently got a bottle of port. The cork was half rotten, the wine was full of deposit, it was horrendous. And I know my port, I was born and bread in Porto, practically grew up on the stuff. This is horrendous, really old bottle and I don?t mean in a good way. It?s gone off. I have decanted it, will leave it to settle for a few days then decant again and then see if it?s drinkable but I?m not setting foot in majestic again?.

Because I was going out I left a note on door. They delivered wine. Did not take down note. When I arrived back no wine. I did ask to be informed when wine would be delivered but nobody rang so I left note. They arranged to redeliver but I asked for a phone call first. They phoned just as I was on my way out so I told them to forget it.They are refusing to refund my money so we have to go through the whole pantomime again.Communication is the secret of any good business.

The shop was light, bright with a warm welcome. I was served by Tara who was excellent. Her product knowledge was first class, when I told her my favourite wine so far she gave me a lovely selection of wines to choose from. I am very impressed- well done Tara. I had a wine in my concierge box which I didn't like, it was not a problem swopping it a wine that I would like.
