I have used this cafe numerous times however there was a large queue for the cafe, after waiting 15 mins I decided to buy a 4.50 sandwich and because I'm a Waitrose card holder I purchased a free tea.
One of the staff, Nicolette said I couldn't drink free tea and eat a Waitrose sandwich in the cafe. So I had to get up and buy a pastry from the cafe. I didn't eat it as I can't eat sugar so I'll give it to my husband instead.
There were plenty of families with a single cup of tea in the cafe costing less than my sandwich.
The world is going mad.... Including Waitrose cafe. No signs telling me not to eat Waitrose food in Waitrose cafe!!!
Very disappointing service. Will not visit again, not even for a Waitrose sandwich

Extremely poor - Tesco cafe is much better and posher!! EDIT - I would be happy to let Waitrose know the extent of their failings but this is something that is likely more of an executive direction rather than a matter to be dealt with by a partner. Perhaps contact details of the Manager would be appropriate?

This is a lovely cafe, but there is few things that let it down.I went in with my daughter, hoping for a light lunch/savoury snack. There was Ham and cheese toastie, sausages rolls, something with chicken-we don?t eat meat so I asked if they had cheese toasties-NO?!Only thing that didn?t contain meat was the toast!!!!Seriously?!The bench seat we sat at was dirty, it had crumbs of food on the table and seat-Sunday afternoon, very quiet so it should have been cleaned.

This cafe is extremely poor. It has a menu on the back wall and the items listed are never available. I would like one of the tomato/olive/mozarella ficella sandwiches and as far as I can tell its about as real as a unicorn. And they don't even have sausage rolls like they advertise. Since this is inside a large supermarket, running out or a lack of availability really isn't an excuse.

Decent grocery store with lots of good items. Can't get enough of that French butter from here

As supermarkets go, this is a good-un. Tesco is on the edge of the town but shopping there is just hard work. Waitrose however is a refreshing change. I always use the self-scan gun and with that I'm usually in and out in minutes. Always well stocked and the fruit & veg standard is alot higher than that of Tesco. Prices aren't as high as you might think and now that Waitrose have their own essentials range, you can shop there on pretty much par with the other supermarkets out there. Friendly staff and an environment that doesn't feel frantic, I'd shop at Waitrose in preference to Tesco every day of the week.
