Took my American family in for a quick breakfast on Thursday morning, the pub was not to busy but we waited a long time for our food when it came the food was cold, my brother in laws egg was like a rubber ball, and my breakfast wrap was all falling apart and stone cold, I was so embarrassed I?d never take anyone there again.

Hygiene enquiry
The Narrows Weatherspoons Abingdon Whilst in the restaurant a male was Handling hot food and plating it up with bare hands
Manager stated to us both this was normal practice and not against any rules. As his staff had good hand hygiene.
The young male had not stopped serving food for long enough to wash his hands.
Can you confirm if this is normal accepted practice?.
Ceramic pot with beans placed on top of cooked bacon food left too long on the counter?. Hygiene not what I expected.
I was doubtful the young male was even the manager, with the way he spoke and dealt with the complaint.
Food also cold as sat waiting to be served for sometime.
Shame as on a previous visit I was very happy with the time spent.
Also tearing off blue roll, for serviette?s, from the same roll used to tear off for cleaning
Extreme shortage of staff, not an excuse for handling food

Called in with family and friends, nice atmosphere for a spoons. Staff very friendly, great service from Emily and Rory, nice food, not greasy and great value for money

Camping nearby at cricket ground walked into town to the pub, well were do I start? no real ales available only lager, tables littered with dirty plates and cutlery, could only see staff members who looked worn out, only saving grace was the lovely bar man who explained problems with cooling system for beers worst Wetherspoons we have ever been to ?complaint sent to Wetherspoons HQ, generic email as response
