Not many in here so no atmosphere, I have been touring England 3 months now, and I just bought the most expensive beer since being here. Green King ice breaker pale ale £6.10, and that's in a green king pub. There are no real ales on tap. In Wetherspoon now Abbot ale £1.79 I won't be ripped off again.

I'm new to Abingdon and the black swan seems to have a 'reputation'. But I cannot fault it in any sense. The beers good, and the staff are friendly. It's an old fashioned boozer in my eyes, which is a dying breed in the pub industry. They have a pool table (which may need re-leveling but it serves as good fun) and a dart board as well as plenty of TV's if you're inclined to watch sports.
I can't comment on the food as I've not eaten at the pub.

Great sports pub in the centre. Very clean, open until 1-ish on Fri/Sat night, can watch football/F1, has pool, darts, jukebox, owner is a good lad. Doesn't have the hipster ales but who cares.

They don't do food, but they have live music events, great staff, a decent pool table, and a smile for you too ? Park in the nearby multi- story car park and it's a short walk.
