Fraud?..Shocked and disgusted by my experience last week when I visited Jewsons Abingdon. Went with my van and roof bars, fully expecting to drive away with a large sheet of 18? exterior ply. Instead got shown a small cut off by a man in the saw mill, 1/4 of the size of a whole sheet. It actually would do the job I needed, but had damage on that piece. so thought the cost would be very good. Took the ticket to the desk and had to ask again when I was given the price for the handy sized piece of ply?.at £39.14 approx. I then asked how much for a whole sheet and was told £41.50 ish. I?ll let everyone work out if this is fraud or perfectly justified.
I spoke with them about being disgusted and they then knocked money off for the damage to 1/2 price. But, what if I had said nothing? are they expecting customers to not be thinking and realising how they are being over charged for a v small piece of ply, compared to a large sheet?
After being treated like this, I will not be returning and shall make sure I share my story to everybody I know. . Disgraceful Jewsons

I went to the Abingdon branch to purchase some timber. When I went to pay at the counter I was shocked when they told me the total it was nearly double of what it should be.
I queried the price and they took some off obviously they were trying it. Even then it was still a lot more expensive than anywhere else. This is not the first time this has happened at this branch. I feel sorry for the general public which don't know the cost of building materials. I will never use this company again.

Almost hilariously bad. I called to see if they had the timber I wanted in stock, and was told they did. When I got there they couldn?t serve me because their systems are down & can?t take card payments. I offered cash but they couldn?t take cash, even if I had the right money. I asked: can I order and pay online, and then collect? Yes no problem. But we can?t cut anything as we have new machines and the people are not yet trained to use them. You have to laugh I guess??

Incredibly helpful staff, both in store and on the phone - I had made an error in an order, and the branch manager sorted it all within an afternoon, organising a reship and a collection. I'm really happy with the quality and the delivery, and the delivery guy was also really professional. Thanks again for saving me loads of time and effort!

Really helpful staff who gave advice and offered tips for a garden project, they were happy to help get hired tools in/out of the car and made adjustments to the hire request based on our needs. Really good value and clear about overall pricing (although the printed invoice was completely incorrect for prices - this was pointed out by the team member at time of signing/collection)

Really helpful & friendly staff. I hired a power washer. which was so much better than the cheap power washer we owned previously, & the customer service was excellent.
