20 people from the Retford U3A met at the pub before going on a 5.5 mile walk. We pre ordered food. 11 if the 20 dined. The food was freshly prepared and enjoyed by all. The staff are very attentive and professional. A great experience. Thank you.

Great food, all courses, for grown ups and kids, decent wine and drinks selection, Friday live entertainment is also really nice. Consistently good and it's the standard all pubs in the area should attain to.

We had not booked a table so we were outside under the canvas. Very nice but pestered by wasps( not the pubs fault). The food was lovely and well presented with a main and pud for £24 each.

Called in on the off chance for Saturday lunch, having not visited for a number of years. We got a table straight away. Food was lovely, haddock and chips, and scampi and chips, followed by Bakewell tart and Sticky toffee pudding. All was delicious. Service was great, despite the pub being busy. Great traditional country pub. Definitely recommend it.

Excellent country pub near the small town of Southwell and it's racecourse. Good food and an excellent range of cask beers.

A pre-wedding meal for a crowd of 20+...?. Really good service from the team, food very good quality and tasty, the staff were really welcoming and friendly and accommodated late arrivals and food preference changes. Lovely evening - Thank you!!

We have had several meals here and have always been happy with the food and service, however our last visit was very different. The guy behind the bar was very lethargic and seemed to be the only person serving drinks. The waitresses were also very lacking, apart from one. We were very much left to our own devices and when served our deserts, despite asking what we were being served it was just dumped on the table and left without any comment. Unfortunately we won?t be going back.
