Went here today and had 2 x cherry scones with butter and hot drinks. Scone tasted stale and it was like eating sawdust. Complained at the till and the waitress was not exactly accommodating and gave an insincere apology. Shan't be going back there that is for sure! Other people we noticed were complaining about their bills also. What a disappointment for a lovely little town.

This is a great place to eat, staff are very friendly even when it?s really busy. Great food, good choice on menu.

My mum and I called in for lunch on Saturday lunchtime. The atmosphere felt chilled and there was a nice low hum of conversation around us. The staff were friendly and efficient, we felt.
We had a good peruse of the menu, before choosing the daily specials. We did feel that some items were rather highly priced - soup and a roll was over £7, baked beans on toast was over £10!! Yet the main meal Specials were only £12.95 - which was reasonable.
My mum really enjoyed her Quiche and salad and my Steak and Kidney Pie with mashed potato and vegetables was really tasty. Even a jug with the gravy in which was good.

A very busy Saturday lunch time but we managed to find a table. Pleasant prompt service. We only had a sandwich which was presented well and plenty of filling. A good pot of tea.

We visited Gossips yesterday with a few awkward food intolerances (dairy, yeast and egg white). I called in the morning to book a table and ask whether we would be able to eat anything from the menu. The cook called me back after checking her files and confirmed there would be a choice of food available to us.
We had a lovely meal, which was prepared away from other ingredients to ensure our food would be safe. We were blown away by the helpfulness and kindness of the cook and the staff. The food was delicious and we will visit again. ? One piece of advice: book a table as it gets really busy at lunchtime ? Well done Gossips and thank you so much for the great experience we had with you yesterday! ?

We arrived for a bite to eat around 1.15pm on 27/12. The staff were really rushed off their feet and all the available tables had all dirty cups and dishes on them from the previous customers. We found a table and a lovely young lady came to clear the table, she was friendly and polite. About 15 minutes later another server/waiter came to take our order which we were told they were out of so we ended up ordering a jacket potato and an omelette. When it arrived the omelette was dry and we were offered no condiments at all and waitress disappeared before we could ask her. It was a very disappointing visit and we certainly couldn't see ourselves or recommending it to others anytime soon. It felt chaotic and not the relaxing lunch we'd hoped for.

Excellent experience, the staff are very friendly, attentive and helpful.
The full English breakfast is very tasty and just the right size, tea or coffee, a fruit juice and toast can be included in the price.
Nothing seems like too much trouble and a lovely atmosphere.
Well done, the whole team is doing a fantastic job, excellent food and service, I will visit you again, hopefully soon !.

A lovely little cafe, the gingerbread latte was the best I have had so far this year!
The prices are rather steep, especially as it seems a busy little coffee shop!

Disappointing. Coffee cold. Added 50p for oat milk and 20p for decaf. Total £4.20 for a very small cup!

This coffee house looks impressive from the outside but be warned it is very pricey. We ordered to lattes + two small mince pies, total cost: £14.00
The service was very good but there were no individual prices shown on the display as you walked in. We couldn?t find anywhere displaying the price of the small mince pies anywhere.
Couldn?t believe it when we came to pay even the receipt only showed total cost no individual prices of what we had.
We shall not be frequenting this coffee house again.

Nice food??
We ordered all day breakfast and Pate, which were good , and the pumpkin spiced latte was very nice!
The apple pie we took away was delicious, not too sweet and still can taste the hint of sour from the apple.

Overpriced food and very poor quality. The cakes looked ok but we didn't try them. I would avoid at all costs. This ruined the last part of our visit.

Really nice food. Excellent service, very friendly, and great atmosphere eating outdoors. Couldn't be better. Gluten free options which were very nice. I wanted one of everything.
