Nice room, decent size with a big bed, a desk top with a kettle and TV, some storage space for clothes, and a decent sized bathroom with a bathtub and shower. It also had two chairs which were quite comfortable. My biggest gripe about the room was the lack of plug sockets. I use a C-PAP machine when I sleep (for sleep apnea), which needs plugging in. But there was no socket by the bed - I had to unplug the TV and use the socket at the other end of the room. Luckily the wire for the machine is long enough to reach that far, but it caused a trip hazard as the wire was crossing from one side of the room to the other. The only other plug socket was next to this, which had the kettle plugged into it - which we had to also unplug so we could charge our phones
Check in was easy. Probably too easy. I just told the receptionist my wife's name (she was the one who booked the room and was waiting in the car) and she didn't ask for ID or anything, just handed me the room key and door fob and told me where the room was located.
The hotel is located next to a fuel station and KFC, so it would be handy to stay in as a truck stop. We booked the room as we were attending a music festival a ten minute drive away and had our newborn son with us so didn't want to camp
We stayed two nights - I accidentally left the Do Not Disturb sign on the door the first day, so we had no maid service. It wasn't a problem though as when I explained to the receptionist that I needed fresh towels, so provided them for us - so greet service
Overall, I would book again if required for the same reason. It's nothing luxurious, but to just put your head down for the night and to shower and change, it's ideal - especially for the price

The best is the staff working 24 hours. We received from them the best and warmest treat, helping all the time with a big smile! We will repeat, thanks for these 4 days!

We stayed here due to attending a wedding nearby. The cost was cheap but the hotel was desperate need of an update. Beds are hard and you only get four pillows. I asked for extra (due to being pregnant) and got told only have what?s in the rooms. It?s very noisy due to being near bust road.
The bathroom is very shabby and has rust on the bath handles.
We stayed for two nights and didn?t get much sleep at all.

The staff at check in and check out were very friendly and keen to help.
This Travelodge is very shabby and is crying out to be updated. The bed linen was clean
Unfortunately the bathroom was not as it had food in the washbasin plug and hair on the bathroom floor. The curtains were functional but hanging off the rail. Having said that we had a triple room for £73.

Room needed hoover but otherwise as travelodge normal spec. Older hotel and location has problematic entrance via motorway services. However what made the stay special was the hospitality of staff- Lisa ( with blonde hair) and Lisa h . Exceptional. Best I have encountered in all my various travelodge experiences.

My room was on the roadside. Cars were mot a problem. Lorries, on the other hand, were quite noisy.

Fine service station hotel, parking a little hard to find only gave 4 stars as no bar / restaurant but given location not a real problem as KFC and 24 hour service station on site and local takeaways deliver but did supply a take out continental breakfast and can take alcohol into room if needed only stayed for one night as an all day event in area on the Sunday and dog friendly too as we had our small pooch with us as did many of the guest too, more than happy to stay again in fact will be first choice if ever in area again as is good for major road connections and only a 10 minute drive into town if needed

Noisy with the shouting, dogs barking and cars revving opposite. Slipped in the shower and badly bruised. Staff not interested when I told them.

Its a motorway travellodge, so its what you would expect: clean and simple.
So why the 5* review? We arrived at 11pm having hit a wall driving from France with no booking.
The lady who checked us in (11pm on Sat 29 March) was just lovely. Very polite, happy to see us and helpful.
A credit to Travelodge.

It?s always about the room and the staff, and both were most certainly to my liking.

It's a Travelodge. It's near Retford.
