Excellent food and service. I ordered a smaller fish n chips (in photo) which was £10 but still a good portion size. Chips were delicious and everything home made. Kids had chicken goujons and chips+ beans which was also great quality and they loved it. Would definitely come back again.

We visited on a Sunday afternoon. The pub was busy with diners and drinkers. There was a jazz duo entertaining and a great atmosphere. The service was good - they were obviously busy. The beers on offer were very nice ? A great selection of hand pulled and draught. We ordered starters and main course Sunday dinners. The starters were amazing. There was quite a few things no longer available off the menu. But we all had a nice meal. Will go again and have already recommended it to friends.

We visited The Bees Knees on 22.03.24 What a gem of a place, great friendly atmosphere, lovely staff and the landlord such a lovely bloke, one of the best we have ever come across. We both had the steak and ale pie which was delicious, the meat was so tender and it was very tasty. I followed with apple crumble which was lovely the only downside being I was too full to finish it. So compliments to the chef. Thankyou for such a lovely meal and your hospitality. Went up for bonfire and fireworks. Awful rainy night but they still put on a good show for all.

Nice pub in Retford. We had booked room for large gathering in evening. Nice drink selection, with lots of local beers and friendly staff.Food was relatively tasty, though quite filling with large portions. Chips in particular were great - proper chunky chippy chips! Was nice that bar ran competition during evening to predict rugby score, which made match quite enticing.Parking spaces on site bit limited but plenty available on street-side. Great place to come overall if in Retford!

Authentic old fashioned country pub, very friendly staff and a warm welcome. Had the sticky chili beef and the squid for starters, very tasty and generous portion. Mains were the steak and ale pie and the surf and turf. Steak and ale pie packed with meat in delicious pastry, creamy mash and beefy thick gravy. Highly recommend this great little pub, a real hidden gem
