We had a delicious afternoon tea on Wed 20 August even though we only phoned for a booking the afternoon before.
The tasty country style sandwiches, brie & cranberry, thick smoked salmon, thick ham & tomato & pastrami with horseradish were all served with a selection of green leaves.
The slices of sponge cake were huge & they & the chocolate brownies with smarties were delicious. Two scones, plenty of jam & cream all served with hot chocolate, cream & a flake. It was a cool day so we sat inside & it became quieter after 2pm as very busy earlier with people enjoying their lunches. Would be great to sit in the courtyard outside on a warm sunny day.

16/07/25 We arrived for our pre-booked afternoon tea today in the secret garden. Despite the initial confusion the staff were amazing and did everything possible to make us comfortable while our food was prepared. Tammy under very busy circumstances was amazing and an absolute credit to your establishment. Our afternoon tea was second to none. We will definitely be returning. Thank you

We had brunch here whilst visiting the classic car show. The service was friendly and quick and the food was tasty. Pretty good value for money too.

Our car club visited yesterday for afternoon tea and there were 50 of us who were extremely well looked after with excellent service and wonderful food. A great experience and will visit again.

Very meh place. I had a hot dog with onions and some chips. All were very nice and tasty however it was really just a sausage in a baguette, not a hot dog. No offerings of cheese or chilli to go with it. No onion rings. Just got a smattering of onions that was it. I find the coffee is a little on the expensive side but my latte was very nice. Cakes are overpriced. All in all it was a very lacklustre experience.

We visited the Thorseby Hall grounds on a weekend recently for a family walk. After this we decided to eat lunch at The Courtyard Cafe. As it was sunny and we had our dog with us we sat at a table outside in the courtyard. This offered good cover from the cold wind so it was quite comfortable. My wife had a English tea and I had a coke zero. For the food we had a ham and cheese panini melt and a burger with chips. Both were simple but good quality and decent portions for the price. Service was a bit slow (about 30 mins for food) but it was quite busy.

Booking a large group reservation over the phone, for a Surprise 80th Birthday Celebration, to arriving and being catered for throughout, made us feel so special.
The personal touche, quality thoughtful caring service made this memorable moment even more special.
Thank you for your Kind service from beginning to end.

Cane today for a spot of lunch and the whole experience was awful! We took a tabls and ordered our food at the counter. Within a fee minutes a young lady gave us a plate with our two sausage rolls on followed five minutes later by a handful of chips in a metal basket and I literally mean a basket of chips with no plate or anything to protect them from the table which had not been wiped! The sausage rolls were luke warm if at all! I waited for my soup but ten minutes later it had not arrived! I asked where it was and was snapped at saying it was probably in the kitchen! The lady then went to check to see what was going in then came back to say that they had not put the order through and did I still want it to which by this time declned as my husband had eaten his lunch as his chips would have gone cold! We were refunded for the soup but didnt really get an apology for our whole lunch experience being spoilt! We then ordered two hot chocolates and when they finally arrived were luke warm as the young chap serving said he had taken it to the wrong table! By thst time we had had enough and got up and left as we were very disappointed! The other thing we noticed were the sausage rolls that were being served were just sitting on top of the counter with no cover over them at all to protect them from flies or people who were standing over them to order! We will give the experience a miss next time we come to Thorsby! ??

Nice location but poor service. Had to wait 40 minutes for 2 simple tuna mayo melts. Then they were sent to the wrong table.

Passable panini one day, awful breakfast the next. The hash browns which came with the breakfast had no potato in them, probably due to being kept warm for so long?Only have 2 stars because the staff were so friendly.
