I don't normally like carvery, but this one has turned me. The food was delicious, fresh, and actually hot! The staff were great and it was a really great day out. I will definitely go again.

The Alders is a great place to visit if you have mobility issues. It is on one level with no steps to at the entrance. Very spacious car park with disabled parking. The staff are friendly and always willing to help.

Lovely little find, great location and very welcoming, we were greated on arrival and promptly seated, we had the carvery and was served by a very friendly chef, everything was fresh and the massive Yorkshire puddings and crispy potatoes always go down well with us, we were stuffed afterwards so we opted for the cake away option which was two huge slices of cake for just £9. We will definitely be returning

Stopped for a quick bite to eat on Sunday. Given a table straight away. Slight wait at the carvery deck as they seemed popular (always a good thing in my opinion). The food was fresh and tasty. Will definitely be stopping by again when in the area.

This was a spot for a family meet up - my brother and his family had our kids for a few days and it was a handover. Our mum and stepdad also came. We usually go to Rufford or Clumber but as it was teatime decide to come to The Alders Staff were super friendly and helpful and thanked us as we left which was nice. We had drinks and dessert all of which were great! The only thing was that I?d looked on the website to see if dogs were accepted inside but as they weren?t we left our golden retriever at home. We are from Sheffield so had to leave her for a few hours while we made the trip. When we got there there were other dogs and I asked and the woman who served us said it was a recent change and they have a special shed with things for for dogs and explained where we could sit with them. We will definitely bring or pooch next time! It would be helpful if you could amend the website. But otherwise we had a fab catch up and will definitely all come again.

Staff seem very nice ??
Ordered a large carvery but stood there (just me) for around 5 minutes waiting for the guy to come out of the kitchen (this place wasn't busy) but when he did appear he was polite ?? but only gave me a medium serving of meat on the plate , i don't know why i didn't say anything but there you go.
When i got back to the table i had cold roast potatoes that only had a slight temperature due to the gravy and the stuffing was rock hard and i now need to visit the dentist ? (joking) no in all honesty the stuffing was rock hard and all the salt had no salt in them.
Really disappointed as i really do enjoy a good carvery but this is most definitely the worst for me, maybe i came at the wrong time but you don't expect a bad meal at any carvery at anytime during the day and i can honestly say this is the only carvery i didn't enjoy

This is a really lovely relaxed pub with great gluten free and vegetarian options. Friendly service and a nicely prepared carvery. Clean and tidy and great for family meals out. Highly recommended. ?

Ok, typical pub food. It's a Marston's chain, so the menus are all the same, but some with an added carvery. No carvery on this particular day though. The other bonus, was the different kids menus, as standard child size one and then an additional, bigger appetite kids menu. Indoor kids area to play on seemed ok (we were there with son, his partner and their 4 kids). Outdoor area good but unforgiving on the inevitable falls that kids have.
