Loved my stay here, staff were very friendly and welcoming. Room was clean and tidy. For the price we paid, it was perfect, bonus points for a Costa across the way. Would definitely book to stay here again.

It is what it is.We were after cheap accommodation to visit our daughter in Nottingham. There was nobody in reception when we got there. We had to phone a number to get someone to come and check us in.The room was fine. The bed was comfortable. Not a great idea on our part to book a hotel at a motorway services. Once checked in if you want to go out for a while you're obviously going to have to do a big loop of the M1 to get where you're going and come back. Absolutely fine if you're checking in, sleeping and leaving in the morning... but I wouldn't stay there again with plans to go out for the evening.

The good news is it has been refurbished our new carpets in my room in the bathroom not like it had been to briefed up and it's a lot better than it used to be considering it's a motorway service station with Travelodge don't usually bother doing anything too in the way of improvements.

Don't get confused, there's not free internet in the hotel and paid internet here is a waste of money. The arrogant man at the front desk printed out instructions with an access code that instructed you to enter the code on the landing page, when the landing page doesn't have such a form field (only an email field, which doesn't work). When I asked for help in logging in, the grump at the reception replied that he was not an IT specialist and did not know anything about it, and told me to call the helpdesk phone number in the instructions. After dialing the number, I waited 20 minutes for the consultant to call me, but no one answered my call.

This is a very noisy hotel, guess more because I?m on the motorway side but will find out tomorrow as I?m being moved to the other side, firstly because of the fumes coming off the freshly painted room and secondly because of the noise. It?s 3am and I?ve barely slept, if I?d have had my car here, I?d have gone slept in it. The company paid for the last 2 rooms available, a double and a so called family room, which is a double with a mattress you pull out from under the bed (certainly not as advertised). Paid £110 for the double and £153 for the so called family room which I didn?t need anyway. Premier in would have given this as a double and charged appropriately. My nose and throat are burning with the smell off of the fumes, I went outside for 10 minutes and my nose and throat eased from the burning almost immediately but I?m working and need to try sleeping and they?ve no spare rooms till later today. So back in bed and caught between the devil and the deep blue sea, do I leave my window open so as I can breathe better but get no sleep because the noise will be exaggerated for leaving the window open, or do I close the window & try putting up with the fumes from the paint and hopefully fall asleep through sheer exhaustion ?????????????

Rooms: Everything was perfect .. shower was brilliant

Poor quality rooms in need of modernisation. We booked a triple room. The chap at reception confirmed the room was ready for us when we checked in, but upon walking into the room it was setup as a regular room, so we had to switch to another room which was actually setup for 3 people. Then when we get in the room, there are not enough towels for 3 people. The bathroom smelled?the typical thing you find in cheap hotels where they don?t ever wash the shower curtain and it stinks of damp. The anti-slip stuff in the bathtub was yellow?like it hasn?t been properly cleaned in a long time?we kept out flip-flops on when showering?just in case. The bathroom also has no extractor fan, and as the room was on the ground floor at the services, the windows only opened a tiny amount?.so no way to get fresh air in and humidity out. There are no plug sockets next to the bed to charge your phone! People have had mobile phones for 20+ years, yet this hotel hasn?t thought to put some sockets next to the bed when they last did a refurb. On the positive side the room was about £25 for a night, with a £14 supplement for a 3rd person. It?s a bit awkward to get to if you?re working in the local area, as you have to go back on yourself to get onto the northbound side of the motorway to get to the hotel.Overall, not impressed, and certainly not a 4-star hotel per the average reviews. I won?t be staying here again. I would rather pay a bit more for a premierInn.

Works booked me this for a night away, wish they didn?t bother would?ve rather stayed in the van and slept upright!! Lots of hair in the bathroom and bath clogging drain. Bath surface peeling/dirty, almost certain there?s spunk on the footer of the bed, no aircon, no plugs near the beds (but that?s not the end of the world). Very dated and not a patch on a standard premier inn, Won?t be staying again!!Rooms: Dated and dirty/uncleanNoteworthy details: Look elsewhere probably not a travel lodge

Travelodge are the same format wherever you go. It's the location which makes the visit. The Travelodge at Trowell is there in conjunction with the MOTORWAY Services for travellers who require comfort stops, food drink etc.

Basic service area accommodation, but very friendly staff who were happy to help with extras such as fresh towels and a hair drier. As expected there is a bit of noise from the motorway, but can?t be helped

Usual Travelodge, which is just of the M1 going north. plenty of parking - comfortable rooms - certainly acceptable for an overnight stay, with usual Motorway Services facilities adjacent. Would use again if in area.

Old room in need of an update, the carpet was old and the room was bare. The tv was very small and old. Also the hot water didn?t work and there were no cups available to make a hot drink. I would not recommend this location.

hotel was clean, quiet, well maintained, beds comfy, staff friendly and helpful. we had a very nice stay, all really good, as long as you don't rely on their wifi, which was non-existent. The Moto garage , few steps away provides reliable wifi
