Great food

A very nice friendly hotel. We had a lovely dinner and breakfast was good too. All the staff were very welcoming- thanks to Tracey for looking after us at breakfast

Nice hotel, clean big rooms, comfortable beds, friendly staff.
Only problem I found was times, time to checkout 10am? Time breakfast finish on a Sunday 10am?
Clearly we missed breakfast, s
We missed it because usually on holidays don't wake up at 9am.
Apart of that, everything was great.

Found staff to be a bit rude and bitchy.
Paid £25+ for their steak meal, yet they 'forgot' half the sides on it.
£60 paid in the end for 2 under-average steaks and a few skin on chips. Plate looked empty before we even started eating.
No onion rings or peas turned up as mentioned on the menu.
unacceptable, wouldn't come back here.
if you want a decent steak, this is just not the place! Terrible value.

Easy to get to, not far from Sherwood Forest, Sherwood Pines, Rufford Abbey, Center Parcs, has own parking. Food was lovely. Light bite menu is excellent.
We enjoyed the:
- Cherry Sunrise Mocktail - a no alcohol Tequila Sunrise. Made with pineapple juice,
Passion fruit syrup, a dash of soda and cherry syrup, topped with Lemon Sorbet.
- Traditional hand battered fish and triple cooked chips.
- Chicken Diane with triple cooked chips.
- Grilled chicken skewer with Turkish pita with salad, tzatziki and harissa.

Loved everything about the Dukeries. Beautifully refurbished in a wonderful building. Staff are so friendly. Shout out to Tracy f.o.h manager who was so approachable and hard working. Will definitely go back

What can I say? We booked a table for 7:30 to get asked for our drinks straight away. We haven?t even had a chance to sit down. They took our order then we was waiting another half an hour for the drinks to arrive. Our starters came out. Everyone?s but mine. They had completely forgotten about it. Then the mains came out. Our friends steak was ament to be medium rare and it was well done that went back and they didn?t have a replacement steak so he had to have a different meal All brilliant for them as they got that refunded which I would?ve expected then they completely forgot to even cook our main so me and my husband was sat waiting till 9:30 with no main meal which is caused me to eat late which is made me feel really ill this morning. You could tell the food had been rushed to get it out quick we got no sorry or a discount or any money off our side of the order. No one checked back to see if any of the meals were okay won?t be coming again.

5* for the refurbishment, the decor is lovely. The staff are friendly. The bed was new and very comfortable. Bedrooms are roasting hot (we stayed June 2025 heatwave) because the windows don't open. We asked for a fan to help move some air and cool us but they don't have fans. Old buildings get hot and need ventilation and cooling. Other reviews have mentioned the lack of fans - not addressing this is poor. Food is rather mixed: a pie is nice, the lasagne must be a unique Nottinghamshire recipe of a ton of cheddar on the top then a ton of pasta and at the bottom a small amount of meat. Gino D'campo would call it cheese pie with pasta!

Staying in local lodges and came for a meal. Steak varied per meal but none were cooked to how they were requested. Chips were rock hard. Could have been a really nice meal but unfortunately this ruined the evening. It was mentioned to the server but nothing was done about it Pestered by flies all evening and yet ate inside

I have to say i was more than pleasantly surprised when i arrived to check in here. Excellent quality of everything. Rooms are spacious, great quality of services, rainfall showers are awesome, plenty of pressure. Food and drink are excellent. Breakfast has a wide choice and a great chef so don't hold back. Will definitely stay here again. Oh, wifi is strong everywhere also.
