Wandered in during a walk with my dog, very welcoming landlady. I?d never been before but we were friends in moments and I?ll be sure to go again soon. It?s not child friendly which suits me perfectly but should be noted for walkers with children. Very dog friendly, lovely warm fire on a misty icy walk and a beautiful! Highly recommended.

Sharon the landlady put on a fantastic event for us last week. Very welcoming and fantastic selection of food. Highly recommended.

The clientele looked like the sort of people who were upset, after reading in the Daily Mail, that Boris Johnson was no longer prime minister.A soulless silence added to a mausoleum like atmosphere, with the cold stare of the locals focused on your very presence. With a no child policy seemingly to apply to the bar and back room, the future of this Inn seems to be getting ready to cash in on its life insurance. The Black Horse Inn: A Lee Anderson favourite.

A free house. No corporate chain rubbish. No fruit machines, no music. Just a nice quaint old fashioned pub.

Excellent village pub, great landlady and good beer

This is what pubs used to be. Good beer, well kept, and a landlady who has stamped her personality on the pub, and who knows that many people like a drink and maybe a meal in a proper bar with no kids in it. If you think a bar is a suitable environment for your children, this is not the pub for you. If you like a proper country pub with a landlady who gives you a genuine personal welcome rather than a chain pub with a manager and staff trained to greet you following a script, this is the place for you.

The first pub I've visited since lockdown started, and I'd been unsure about going out....I need not have worried... We were greeted by a lovely woman wearing a most imaculate apron, she explained we would have to sit outside, which we were more than happy to do. Table service meant we didn't have to go inside, our drinks were brought to our table, card contactless payment outside, and the cleanest table, chairs, tray and drinks glasses I honestly think I've ever seen. I felt more than confident and could relax and enjoy my drink. A great experience.

Very personable landlady. Good beer. Big improvements have been done during lockdown. They have out a lot of effort in for the reopening. Worth a visit.
