Absolutely outrageous behaviour from the bouncers. I?ve been attending Rock city for many years but tonight was a very unpleasant experience. The bouncer in attendance had an unmatched superiority complex that I have never come across before. After queuing for 2 hours in white noise and paying close to £10 my friend was kicked out with no explanation or reason. Upon asking the manager and bouncer for a reason they said he was being disrespectful with no specific reason. I have never experienced treatment like this - I find it disappointing and upsetting.

This is a very 'marmite' venue amongst my friends, but I love it. Always good sound, there's a balcony and seating upstairs if ypu don't want to be in the thick of it. Plenty of bars. Only drawback is queues for merch and coats!

Great for club nights but not the best for gigs. The way it?s set up, it?s really hard to see when you?re short like me. My partner took the photo as he?s taller and can actually see but even he had a poor view. The balcony is small and gets packed unless you arrive when doors open, and it?s hard to see downstairs because the stage isn?t very high up. We struggled to get a decent view anywhere and it was overcrowded as the band are too big to play such a small venue. The acoustics on the balcony also aren?t the best and the vocals were very muffled.
The other issue is it?s not good for accessibility - I saw people with accessibility issues being placed in high stools that are barely tall enough to see over the balcony and looked precarious. Also saw a woman with accessibility needs struggling to get to the toilets from the balcony as the women?s toilets are downstairs. They need a dedicated disabled area that is accessible and where the stage isn?t visible and there are toilets nearby.

Great little venue for gigs. Toilets were clean enough. Didn't use the bar as didn't want to lose our spot. We had a great view of the stage from the balcony. Staff were all friendly and polite.

So me and my partner attended a gig recently my partner has a mobility disability we was told we would be let in 15 minutes before entry but got let in 5 minutes before and she was really struggling standing.
Once in everything was fine got given a seat each up on the balcony but had a group constantly trying to move my partners chair and mine and because there wasn't a designated area for us it caused an argument because of this do think their should be a area for the disabled like most other venues.
Besides this stuff was friendly and helpful.

Don't know why people rate this venue so much, every gig I've been to here has been oversold with an awful view of the stage and people squashed in like cattle. Wish artists would stop playing here.

I've been to Rock City many times, but the slowness of the queue at my most recent visit were very bad. Security were doing bag checks which seemed to be holding things up the most. Obviously they need to be done, but instead of having people go through, single-file being checked by 2 security, why not split the queue into multiple lanes (at least 5!) each doing a bag check, then back into regular queue, instead of doing the snake queue part outside the venue? Hundreds of us missed the entire first act we paid to see because of the time it took to admit us. It's just not good enough.

Great venue for rock bands. Airborne was awesome once again. My only gripe is people were vaping in the audience and security let it happen. Hence the 4 stars.

I've just been here tonight, I'm only giving two stars for the venue being so big... My issue started when I couldn't get my ticket scanned what's the point in having one in if the scanner doesn't read QR codes!
The next issue i have was a very big issue, the barrier next to the main barrier isn't connected to anything so it's very dangerous in the fact if people who are drunk go over and start falling all over it like they did tonight then it just falls over, staff aren't doing enough to prevent potential accidents this is a hazard, and it wasn't only affecting me either!
If people are drunk and are clearly in distress they should be told to leave! They definitely shouldn't be served more alcohol!
