Couple weeks ago I went to the store to return an item. Worst experience ever! The woman who worked at the cashier told that she see stains ( really small dot that you can really see and I don?t know where it came from as I didn?t take my item from the bag ever). She then accused me of taking the tag and putting it back saying that not how the store put their tags( mind you all the store has the same way of tied tags). I felt embarrassed and shocked!! I start swearing I didn?t take them and putting them back. She said she will take to the manger and came back saying they can?t Accept, it because ?All of the Stains?, I told her all the store has the same tag( I wanted apology for such absorbed accusation. She said yeah they won?t return it because of the ?small dot?and that she is sorry for that. Nothing about accusing me.)
Worst customer I?ve ever have in my life. And I have visited several countries. I will never go to that store and never buy from revier island again.

Staying in Nottingham overnight so headed into the city centre, unfortunately on the walk in my cross body RI bag strap broke.
It was a Christmas gift so didn?t know if I was eligible for an exchange as my partner only had proof of the bank transaction.
Found River Island & the staff, Phoebe, Taylia & Yulia couldn?t have been more helpful, I was shown a similar bag which I decided to exchange.
The staff were lovely and made the whole experience straightforward, Thank you

Absolutely disgusting service, the staff are unprofessional and the manager discriminates against pregnant women which is unlawful, legal action will be taken and this is being raised to the local press.

Worst customer service in Nottingham. I bought a pair of trousers and realized that I would prefer a bigger size. I asked my husband to go there to exchange them, but the manager refused. First, she said she couldn't accept the trousers because she could smell conditioner on them, even though all the labels were still attached and I definitely hadn't worn or washed them. Then, she conceded that I hadn't washed them but still refused the exchange because she saw cat hair on them! Awful experience; I will never go to this store in Nottingham again.

I recently purchased some items online and choose the option of delivery to a store near me for pick up. On getting home and trying the items on, I realised the black jumper was overtly bigger than what a medium size should be and decided to return the item.
Day 1. On getting to the store on a Saturday around 5.58pm the store was about to shut down with customers inside still been attended to, but I was stopped by one of the lady staff, I told her that I was already in the store and by retail laws I should be served but insisted she wont allow me to go and join the queue of customers been served and she needs to call her manager. I agreed as I presume the manager should be in a better position to educate her but when she came, I received the worse customer services of my entire life, she was rude, unprofessional with no customer services courtesy or knowhow, she was more concern about going home on time even though their opening and closing information on Google says the close by 7pm. I tried to explain the situation that I would have been served by the time they decided to delay me there but both of them will not see any reason . I decided to leave as not to allow her unprofessional attitude ruin my day, while I was leaving there were still customers at the till been attended to.
Day 2 : Sunday, I got there around 3.30pm, I came back again to drop off the returns and have my refunds processed, another series of excuses that I tried the Jumper on and in the process, I untied the price tag label which I also included in the return, this time it was another problem for the sales rep I believe to be from Asian background and she had to call her "same" manager from the previous day and she was on about why I untie the price tag label, which I did to make sure there was not excuse of not been able to fit the top properly. While she was tying back the price tag label to the jumper size holder, I reminded her that I do not understand how they go about their customer service in the store, siting my experience of the previous day and all of a sudden she the store manager said she wont be accepting the returns anymore that I should go process the returns somewhere else and they left me by the side of the till and went to a different till to attend to other customers, at what time I went online and called customer service to report such unprofessional and rude attitude toward customer. The customer services online processed my returns and sent a QR Code my email that I will use to send the item away.
I am not sure if this is the same type of attitude and customer services been displayed at this branch but I have been a long term customer of River Island both in store and online in big Cities like London and Manchester and never for once have I been treated with such rudeness coming from people who are supposed to be managing a store outlet of River Island. Again if this particular Store Manager feels are prejudice, stereotype and discriminative intentions prompts her to be rude to people of certain race and background, maybe she needs to find a different job. I am not only appalled, I am also shocked and disappointed that somebody prone to displaying such unprofessional attitude and temperament got a position to manage a store branch as a manager but lacks basic customer services skills and basic knowledge in the retail industry, My rating for this business based on my experience with the staff managing it, is Zero!

I don?t really think this page deserves even 1 star.. I bought a river island bag and for days I didn?t realize the tag was on all this time. Once I saw the tag I took the bag back into store and told them to remove the tag. I lost my receipt and I was panicking a lot as every shop I go into it beeps which is very embarrassing as the team didn?t even do a good job when I purchased the item it is their job to take the tags off. It?s common sense. After that the blonde lady at reception kindly said let me ask my manager and manager then came and said to me we ?we won?t remove it until we see a receipt ? , I then said that I have a confirmation email and it literally says river island on the bag, as I?m not asking a lot. Just literally want them to take off the tag !! They didn?t listen and I then said to them, ?so you won?t help me?? She said ?no? in such a rude attitude which made me feel very upset me leaving the store. Absolutely awful customer service they need to learn some respect especially the manager smhh
