Saturday night and I?m in Nottingham. I love BBQ and have enjoyed a meal or two at the Red Dog restaurants in London so thought I knew what to expect.
The venue is large however was not that busy. I clearly didn?t need to book ahead although it did take a few minutes for any staff members to acknowledge me standing by the door waiting to be seated and there were plenty of them just standing around
Upon being seated, I was informed that a number of items on the menu were not available due to a problem with their smoker. These included brisket and beef ribs.
After a few minutes, my server took my order and my cocktail soon arrived
My starter arrived in due course (buffalo wings) and there were plenty of them although they were a touch dry.
Onwards then to my main. Some pork ribs that whilst tasting OK, were not the best quality with a lot more fat and gristle than I would normally expect. Sure ribs can be fatty but these seemed to have more than average. The side of fried pickles was very uninspiring as were the fries (lots and lots of fries). Just standard frozen fries.
So my total bill was £77 for one person. That?s a starter, main and a couple of margaritas. That does feel expensive based on the quality of the food.
My server was attentive however the place was lacking any real atmosphere and the other staff seemed a bit bored and not wanting to be there. So a premium price for a less than premium experience. Shame

Love this bar!! My first time in Nottingham and I had a waitress called Chloe and she was so lovely, she made sure I was informed about all of the drinks on the menu as someone who has allergies, she was kind, smiley and very charismatic. Made the experience 10x better !!!

Really liked when I saw online. This was my suggestion for a small group of friends. The staff were amazing and attentive. Food was really nice. Only reason I gave 4* is bill was £130 without alcohol. Half only had water, 2 starters, and 2 sides for the table.
