Dining on a Thursday night the atmosphere was laid back and relaxed. Service friendly and helpful. The menu is small, full of quality. As a pair we thoroughly enjoyed every plate and ate most of the menu, which was all extremely well prepared and flavoursome. If I could?ve improved one thing, I?d have preferred slightly slower service and would?ve been happy with a dish at a time because the food warranted it. We ate around 12 plates in 45 minutes. Appreciate, in this kitchen when busy it?s not really realistic to spread but however it come, I highly recommend.

I recently visited this restaurant with my mother. Unfortunately we were running approximately 15 minute?s late. Not wanting to cause inconvenience, I rang and left a message stating our arrival time and apologising.
Upon arrival (to an almost empty restaurant), we were told in an abrupt manner by the manage ?you?re 15 minutes late?. I then proceeded to explain that I had left a message. This was then followed by ?where did you leave a message?? To which I replied ? on a mobile phone with a Tesco messaging service?. At which point I did say ?I feel like I?m being told off? to which there was no reply or apology forthcoming.
He then responded with ?well the kitchen closes at 3.45? To which I reassured him that ?I?m sure we?ll manage to eat quickly enough!?
We were then shown to our table, his rudeness already marring what should?ve been a lovely experience in a new dining venue,
We promptly ordered and the food arrived which was both original and tasty.
The young lady that was our waitress was incredibly friendly and willing but her inexperience was evident throughout - not offering to change plates and cutlery between new dishes being brought from the kitchen and leaving the table in quite a mess
Please, please get rid of the tea/dish towels that are acting as napkins, they just look a bit grubby and messy.
Lovely food ruined by poor service. In a city with numerous other wonderful restaurants, that pride themselves on good food AND excellent hospitality this restaurant is sadly lacking.
I won?t be visiting again

Absolutely love this place! Everything we tried was fantastic but the desserts stole the show for me.

Congratulations to Dan, Ollie and Rae Ray and the rest of the team at Piccalilli. I am an incredibly fussy eater and the dishes that were served up were fabulous, seriously! I am so pleased that yet another restaurant start-up has decided to take the plunge and invest in a place in Nottingham because exceptional food at a reasonable price is hard to find. We will most certainly be back, especially as the menu changes regularly and I cannot recommend it highly enough to discerning diners who prefer quality over quantity. They also have an extensive wine list to suit all tastes. Do not delay; please try it out: support these new ambitious restaurant entrepreneurs as this is a brutal industry and they need our support!
PS Google review only gives an option to select 3 dishes but there are many more, especially the specials: the custard tart was simply divine - only ?just?cooked but delicious and that takes incredible skill (otherwise it?s overcooked, rubbery and inedible).

We had high hopes for this restaurant visit and we were not disappointed- everything about it was amazing - the food was amongst the best small plates we have ever eaten especially the salmon dish which was just outstanding and the atmosphere was fantastic-a brilliant addition to the Nottingham restaurant scene

Recommended to try this by Pogo (fantastic cocktail bar) and did not disappoint even if it was within 2 weeks of opening. A warm welcome to a cozy vibe, close to but cocooned from the central Nottingham clubbing scene. We loved the sharing plates and eclectic choice of wines, cocktails and craft beers. Two dishes in particular stood out as the stars of an already great show - the guinea fowl with jerusalem artichoke was cooked to perfection and the exquisitely rendered pork belly with a home made delicate quince mustard will stay in my mind for a long time. Chef and owner Dan and his talented team are shining lights for the Nottingham foodie scene. Go!

What an excellent new venture. Tucked away in Cannon Court (off Angel Row), Picallili specialises in small plate delights based around quality Bristish ingredients. A sensibly sized menu offers good choice in starters, veg, fish & meat options. Good drinks too! Nottingham is lucky to have such an original start-up, so reserve a table now - you won't be disappointed.

Wow - what a fabulous little gem of a restaurant. Just opened so we didn't quite know what to expect, as a party of 4 we decided to try nearly everything on the menu and share...absolutely sublime food, love the decor really friendly staff, whats not to love. Tried some beautifully crafted dishes and cant wait to go back for more. Everything about the place is geared towards providing great food, great atmosphere, some really inventive dishes and drinks, we had a fabulous evening and it felt special, new and exciting, the future of dining in Nottingham just got a whole lot better.
