I had an absolutely awful experience at the Halfords Netherfield store and will never shop here again.
I purchased a Nextbase camera in May, and when it suddenly stopped working, I visited this store three times to return it. Instead of offering any real support, the person in charge of the store dismissed me every single time, insisting it wasn?t a manufacturing fault but due to ?not updating.? How can he make that judgment without even properly checking the camera? The device won?t even power on ? which Nextbase themselves later confirmed cannot be fixed.
If a camera completely stops working just because it wasn?t updated, that?s a serious design flaw. But instead of acknowledging the issue or offering an alternative solution, the store manager outright told me that no matter how many times I come back, he will reject the return. That level of disrespect towards a customer is absolutely unacceptable.
We buy high-value products from trusted retailers like Halfords expecting reliability and proper service. Instead, I was met with arrogance, zero accountability, and no willingness to help. This is by far the worst service I?ve ever received, and I strongly recommend avoiding this store at all costs.

Took my Son's bike in as his chain had snapped. It's was replaced within half of an hour. £26.99 for the chain and £12.00 for the labour. I'm not sure if this was expensive for a chain tbh but it is an expensive mountain bike. The chap who served us also did a few tweaks on the gear's. Bike running smoothly. Very happy with the service and work definitely recommend.

I?ve now had the exact same frustrating experience twice with two different Halfords stores.
First, I ordered a simple tube of carbon assembly paste from the Netherfield store. The website showed it in stock, so I placed the order. I received a confirmation email telling me it was ready to collect. Then, someone called me to say it actually wasn?t in stock after all. Their explanation?
?It must have been shoplifted off the shelf.?
I found that a bit weak, but fair enough?once.
So I tried again, this time with the Nuthall store. Same process: I placed the order, got an email confirming it was ready to collect, and then?six minutes later?another email saying the item wasn?t in stock. A while after that, they phoned me to confirm it?s not available. When I asked why I was able to order it in the first place, guess what the explanation was?
?It must have been shoplifted off the shelf.?
So now it?s obvious: that?s their standard excuse. A stock answer?pun intended?that shifts the blame onto some imaginary shoplifter, rather than admitting their inventory system is broken.
The core problem is bigger than a missing product:
There?s no way to speak to a human before ordering?only an AI phone system that blocks you at every turn.
The online stock system is unreliable and not linked to what?s actually on the shelves.
The people responsible for this mess are untouchable, while store staff are left to deliver scripted apologies.
This isn?t just poor service. It?s a company that has intentionally removed all the safeguards that would stop this happening. I don?t appreciate being misled or lied to?twice.
Be warned: if you order something from Halfords because it says ?in stock,? be prepared for a follow-up email?or call?saying it was ?shoplifted.? And no way to verify anything until it?s too late.

Really great service. Every time we come to halfords we are met with staff that are extremely knowledgeable and very friendly. Today a member of staff served us- Faith, thank you for all of your aasistance with our car Faith. Nothing was too much effort for you and just to make things even better you were amazing with our little girl who was getting impatient. Once again, thank you so so much!
