For a brand so known, it is unfortunate that the staff attitude is absolutely horrible. Ask them a simple question and the response is quite rude. The prices compared to other known service providers are also quite high. I opted to go with them as I am quite new to the area but then one of my colleagues requested a quote from other supplier for the same services and it could have saved me a minimum of £300. Quite shocking.

Apparently our B segment car may be too big for the ramp? That?s crazy for a Halfords Garage if they can?t handle B segment. Also the person managing the phone lied when we called to check progress, said the car needed to go out for a road test but it never got taken for one as we could see it from the shops whilst we waited.

I wouldn't leave this garage one star. I have had to make a complaint to customer services about a member of staff Edward who was really obnoxious, rude and really unhelpful.we took a AA warranty out on our car. It developed a rattle from underneath so the AA told us to take it here.we booked a appointment, for 830am, I got a text message to take it 10 minutes early. So we sat in the rush hour traffic got there and a young pretty girl came in to drop her car keys off just after we had arrived. Edward said we are not going to touch your car, we are not going to look at it. When I asked what we were doing there he replied I didn't book your appointment. He said you will have to pay £49.99 then it goes up in increments of £149 plus labour. I Explained the AA had sent us, he said I'm not touching that car, I'm not even going to look at it.while this was happening in front of the pretty girl. A man called Tom who was helpful took the car and put it on the ramp for 1 minute. He said he couldn't find the rattle.The Girl in the reception kept looking thought the glass to us so I know Edward had said something to her. I've asked the head office to view the footage of his behaviour. I'm waiting on a manager calling me. I called back and said to Edward if you can be anything in life be nice it goes along way.

I would put 0 stars if I could. Staff rude and derogatory to women. I booked my car for an MOT. It failed, fair enough. Couldn?t tell me what size of brake disk my car would need! A 5 year old could pull that information online surely! Quoted roughly £750 to have it repaired! No thanks! Had it repaired for £250 elsewhere. Overall rude, sexist, lack of basic knowledge and complete rip off for that kind of service. Definitely not coming back. Just because we are women, it doesn?t mean we don?t know cars!

Let me down horrendously badly,,,exceptionally poor customer care,,,potentially ruined Xmas plans for my son
For 2 tyres to be replaced they wanted my car to be on site from 11am until 17:30 while being told 2 tyres will take 90 minutes!!! which in my experience shows inept technical skills or blatant lies to a customers face
Zero effort from Halfords to find away
Happy Tyre man just 5 minutes away took less than 15 minutes upon arrival to interact and diagnose,remove a wheel,remove the tyre from rim ,repair it, reinflate it and put it back on car and retorque the nuts before taking payment while offering customer care which put Halfords to shame

Awful.
Told me I was an hour late; when they realised I was on time stated they couldn?t do it as I?d missed my slot.
Reluctantly did the MOT after persuasion - passed then called back 20 mins later to say the car had actually failed.
Refused any form of compensation or an apology.

Booking a time slot is meanless when on arrival you are told we will let you know by 5pm when the work is done. Parking is a nighmare, never enough room.

Patronising and belittling to women - avoid.
I was booked in for a 10 point car check this morning, although I didn?t hang around to even have this appointment as Edward made me feel so uncomfortable and upset that I just wanted to get away from the place.
I told Edward that I was booked in for this service and he proceeded to pull my car?s MOT history up on the screen and go through this with me before checking me in, even though I definitely didn?t ask him to do this nor did I want him to do this.
Edward went through every single point on my MOT history, laughing the whole time, patronising me and belittling me about my car and what I ?should? be doing with it. It was just him and I in the office at this point, which made me feel even more uncomfortable. I left feeling very deflated and silly without even having the service I came for. I?m a 27 year old female who went in for this service on my own, thinking that I would just be dropping my car off and then going on with my day. I didn?t expect to be greeted with this unnecessary rudeness from a member of staff.
I feel like this only happened because I?m a young female who went into this environment alone, so I would strongly suggest if you identify as female and you?re due any type of service on your car, take someone with you or avoid this particular branch because unfortunately the world we live in today means people still think it?s fine to treat people, particularly women, how I was treated today.

Don?t go to Halfords!
I took my car to Halfords to get an MOT & full service done after cancelling my appointment with Eden Tyres because I got my new car early and wanted to get the old cars MOT & service done asap so I can sell faster and the closest place that I could take to was Halfords after a quick online check.
(Which was more expensive than Eden while getting less done on a full service as Halfords advised me to change the spark plugs but Eden has that included on a full service)
My car is on around 50,000 miles and we only use it around 4000 miles a year and take good care of it so I knew it shouldn?t fail MOT.
Then I get a call that the car failed the MOT for multiple reasons (headlamp aim, exhaust readings, reg plate lamp) while it?s past does not have a single failure or any warnings so they just left a red mark in the cars MOT history while it?s not a correct failure. Then they said that they could do diagnostics for £49 and I said okay which ended in another call and they said the car passed MOT.
When I went to pick the car up, I asked them how the car passed on the second MOT with the problems being there. They said they removed the light bulb and put it back so the pattern was fixed (I think this is a lie), they changed the reg plate lamp l which is another lie (was working in the first place because I checked it on my home security cam records) and that the engine was cold on the first MOT and was heated up on the second and it passed. I would expect the person who does the MOT to check the engine heat and run the car before testing if that affects the test result since my car isn?t the first car they are testing.
In addition to the above my appointment was at 8:30 and when I arrived they told me my appointment was at 14:00 while I showed them the email and they said that?s the drop off time which I believe is not true.
My personal experience proved me how unprofessional Halfords is which proves all the comments I previously heard.
I am not sure if this happened to me because of my accent and them being racist or whether they are ?Just trying to milk money out of their customers.? as another person previously commented. I won?t advise Halfords at all. I have previously used Lindeys, Eden and some local services where all were much more professional and cheaper than Halfords.
