Personally I didn?t stay here because I chose not to go to university but I can say that it is a really lovely accommodation with friendly staff who always try to help. However, I really do not agree with the ?tenancy takeover? agreement as I think that this just adds extra stress onto the student because if they don?t find a replacement, they are liable and also don?t get there £672 advanced rent payment returned. I wish this didn?t exist because It would be SO much easier if Goldsmith Court/Yugo just relisted this property and charged a small cancellation fee like many other properties do, they would fill up the room much quicker so tbh it just feels like they want to stress out students for no reason whatsoever. The deposit is also very expensive, I can understand maybe a £200-£350 deposit to secure the room but I think a £672 payment (£250 booking fee and £422 advanced rent) is disgraceful. Why do they need to charge a booking fee?! When I was booking, I didn?t even notice there was a later £422 that they take out of your bank until I had already signed the agreement and paid the original £250 booking fee so I really had no choice.I (and many others) have also been waiting over 24 working days for the refund when it is supposed to take only 14 working days. This is just added stress onto students who need their deposit back, it is a lot of money!Overall, if you?re fine with paying extra and dealing with possible stress then I would recommend living here because it is a big, nice room with a decent sized bathroom and the friendliest staff members who are always happy to answer questions, help you and do respond very quickly!

Very convenient location and fine overall but the constant builders walking around, and construction, and drilling is absolutely insufferable.

There are pros and cons to this accomadation.First of all lift was broken for moving in (fair enough) but then it remained broken for 6 weeks and then a week after it was ?fixed? it was broke again for another 2 and would constantly by broken then fixed then broken again. Which was annoying having to carry the hoovers from reception up and down the stairs and shopping etc. Especially on moving day, having to carry everything up flights of stairs.FIRE ALARMS. Fire alarms were constantly going off up until winter break most days 3 am fire alarm which was sometimes due to people setting them off but night staff had no idea how to turn them off which resulted in hours of constant ringing. Although unfortunately I think fire alarms are a problem in most student housing, not just Goldsmith- so be prepared. The staff are all very nice and are really good people (like genuinely lovely people) but I had a lot of problems trying to get things fixed in my room. My heater was broken for like 3 months and everytime I?d ask about the replacement (in person and email) they said they?d get on it, never did.I ended up having to use the temporary one they gave me up until I left. =( Again I had a leak in my shower that maintenance said they would fix and never did.And the Main reason I wouldn?t recommend is the absolute lack of security! There was a point where the door on the ground floor to block 3 was broken and there was a sign up saying use the other door it?s broken, yet when I ordered shopping the guy who delivered it was inside the accomadation, the door was fully able to just be opened by anyone! And it took weeks for it to be fixed! Super unsafe! My particular flat had a spare room at the end, and me and my flatmates constantly had to deal with traffic in our flat of random people using that room without any warning from the staff. ( usually because their room had problems so the staff would give them a key to our flat to use the room or in one case because they?d had a disagreement with their flat mates) We honestly wouldn?t have minded but we had no warning and felt unsafe as the rooms themselves can?t be locked from the inside so literally anyone can just open yOur door if you?re in your room. One of my flatmates door would not even lock from the outside for around the first few weeks and she had lots of technology which could have easily been stolen by the many people who suddenly had access to our flat.We also had our flat open for viewings which we did not sign up for at all! Again wouldn?t have been too bothered by this if we were given warning beforehand; like an email saying what time slots etc would have been nice! Instead of being in the kitchen and having a family suddenly come in for viewing unannounced. (But again I think this is a student accom thing that happens most places) And the only compensation we got was a £30 gift voucher between us (which is nice but maybe fix the lift and my heater first?) Personally I found it hard to relax as I would be constantly worrying about some random person being allowed into the flat without us knowing!whole having to go down and book out a Hoover was a bit of a pain when other accomadations that are cheaper have them in the flat. I had to wait weeks for a Hoover once because they were constantly booked up. Also when the lift was broke carrying the Hoover up stairs was horrible.Overall I wouldn?t particularly recommend! Absolutely way too expensive for what you get. Although The rooms are pretty spacious and I liked my room (except the broken parts)Although I will say it is a good spot for nights out as it?s pretty much in the centre, and literally a 3 min walk to Nottingham trent but you?d have to comprise a few things.

Last year everything was really good, but this year it has been terrible. The lift hasn?t been working for 6 weeks, meaning me and my flat mates who live on the 6th ( top floor ) have to struggle up the stairs multiple times every day. One of my friends has asthma and it is genuinely painful for them to get up and down the stairs but we have had no support whatsoever. They?ve taken the hoovers from our flats and so whenever we need to hoover we need to get one from reception and carry it up the stairs. The fire alarm has been going off multiple times throughout the night and none of the night staff know how to make it stop.

Very friendly staff members always wanting to do what?s best and eager to help out with any situations. Flats above and bellow are very loud, disturbing our whole flats sleep most of the time but walls and ceilings are thin so is to be expected.

All you can ask for as a first year. En-suite bathrooms are somewhat spacious and the kitchen and living space is decent. Can be noisy at times but should be expected a university accommodation.

Was looking for an es suite which is what I got, bathrooms are a good size and so are the rooms. Noisy at times, but that?s uni accommodation so doesn?t bother me. Good and helpful staff.

I have had a very good experience with goldsmiths so far. The maintenance are helpful and fix things quickly and the rooms are spacious. The kitchen is a good size for 5 people and everything works, with some wear and tear from past tennants.
