Fish was great but the meal was spoilt by the chips being very soggy. Chips need to be cooked through and then kept hot .

For the third time, whilst they are very generous with the portion size of their chips, they have been almost inedible. Chips need to be well cooked, and theirs aren?t currently.

Chips were awful and extremely oily, I was throwing up two hours after eating a meal from here so I think it gave me food poisoning as it?s the only meal I?d eaten all day. The fish was just OK but very very greasy - will be reporting the food poisoning to the council. Do not visit this store the food has gone completely down hill and they?re not cheap, I paid £17 for a medium fish and chips and a drink!!!

What?s happened? Usually I like their fish and chips but today it was awful dry flavourless chips and the fish was flat like it had been stored frozen , batter also disappointing!

The 3rd of July 2025 the Manager and young lady serving. Always politely welcome everyone very down to earth professional. Asking how I'm doing with parents. Lovely hard working young ladies. Atmosphere is brilliant get to have a laugh. Making sure the order is right pipping hot food wonderful service. Recommended highly yes it a very busy place. The staff do their best many time's. Thank you very much appreciate keep going.

Had late afternoon meal in the Long Eaton Restaurant. Great staff, great fresh food, delivered quickly and efficiently by friendly waiters. Ice cold drinks on a hot day. Nothing too much trouble. Thoroughly recommended. ?? ?? ?? ?? ??

Went to George?s fish & chips on melton road around 2:00 so wasn?t busy , couple of people waiting for their order
Got us large meal which includes fish& chips only for £11.95 and 1 children meal ( 2 small fish and small chips & added peas with it around £6 ( just edited this message apparently you get a bottle of fruit juice or water ) with the kids meal ?
Food was fresh , warm and the guy who served me helped me with placing the right meals I wanted as the menu is quiet big & on a board over the till

So have ordered from Sutton in Ashfield a few times and to be fair the fish and chips are expensive but actually worth it?.
BUT and this is a big but anything outside of this order is criminally expensive? £13.45 for a mixed kebab you would expect decent quality meats and a decent size, however the meat is sub par and heavy on the fillers and the chicken is the same Costco based one, further to this the size of the Kebab is smaller than a wrap at other places?.
Fish and chips two meal deals at £30 is worth it as they are pretty good? however £30 for a fish and chips with a cold cheaply made kebab which came cold, wouldn?t bother?

Honestly, the best Fish & Chips i have ever had. Huge portions and fed my whole family with leftovers, please everyone, try this place. You won't be disappointed. Cheers

Great fish and chips place, best enjoyed immediately (we sit outside on one of the benches in front of the shop). The service is fast and efficient, good prices, and we especially like the haddock and chips.

The fried fish is delicious and the portion size is reasonable. But it was just French fries that I ate at home, which made me feel a little dry. The overall service is also in place, nothing special. An ordinary little shop.
