just had my first full English and wow!! what a breakfast! service excellent food came freshly done and didn't have to wait to long. lovely setting and price was very reasonable. very highly recommended

First visit today. Wow! Excellent service, lovely staff. Great location and layout inside. Food was lovely. Big pot of tea and very nice too! Great breakfast and cakes! Highly recommended!

An INCREDIBLE Sunday lunch.\n\nI am a breakfast regular at the Cow Shed Cafe. Last weekend a mate and I decided to try the Sunday lunch, It was just exceptional. \n\nLarge Sunday lunch for £10...a huge plate full, five different sorts of veg, roast and mashed potatoes, two Yorkshire puddings and a mound of absolutely delicious roast lamb (other meats are available) with lashings of gravy. This must be the best roast dinner in Sheffield and Derbyshire. My mate had the gammon...a great big thick slice, he said it was the best he'd eaten in years.\n\nAll the meat comes from the farm shop.\n\nI am going to be back...fab value, cooked to perfection.

Usually have nothing but praise for this place in every way. We ordered minute steak sandwiches on ciabatta which on the website said came with onions or cheese and a side of chips. We ordered to collect at 2 and they had the time as 3 but that wasn't a problem, it was the food.\nThe steaks were chewy and leathery, there were no onions present and i think the ciabatta would have been better slightly toasted. The chips were luke warm and undercooked with no flavour. Two mouthfuls each and in the bin! We were also charged 8 pounds each and not 5.50 as advertised ?

We popped in for breakfast and were really delighted. The cafe is welcoming and busy with a lovely layout.\nThe menu is filled with typical locally sourced farm products.\nWe had sausage and egg bap and a bacon and egg bap with pots of tea. The food arrived quickly and pipping hot clearly freshly cooked. The tea was served in lovely teapots and cups and saucers.\nAll in all a great place and good value.

We visited the Cowshed Cafe today in the hopes of a nice lunch. When we got there it was busy so we went to a table and were impressed with the menu. I went to the counter, got two cold drinks from the fridge which were actually warm. I ordered the bacon burger and home made chips (extra £1). When the food arrived the burger was tiny and barely warm which was highlighted because the grated cheese had not melted, the slaw was warm as if it hadn?t been in the fridge. The home made chips we soaked in oil and soggy, it was not nice food at all, we left most of it.\nTo make things worse there were loads of flies landing on us and the food and drinks. This possibly why we didn?t complain there and then because I just needed to get out. There was also a dog following the staff as well as been in and out of the kitchen constantly which I thought food standards would not allow.\nIt was generally grubby, we will never go back and would not recommend this place to anyone else.

Whilst the food was tasty and plentiful the adherence to social distancing was absolutely zero. No members of staff had masks except under their chin (we observed for over 30mins before hurrying our food and leaving due to feeling uncomfortable). Whilst half of the customers made the effort to wear masks, the other half didn?t and weren?t ever asked by staff to do so. \nOne woman walked in orders food then went and stood near to our 10 year old to take pictures of the cows in th shed. No masks at all. Very poor and we won?t be going back. !!!

As usually the staff were helpful, coffee hot and food served in good time and delicious HOWEVER I am a little confused as to their policy on water for children. We were refused 2 glasses of water for the girls after ordering 4 breakfast, I was then informed that due to covid they could not serve tap water (this was while I watched the lady in the back washing up etc) I could however buy their own bottled water as an alternative!.. Interesting to then read that on the table the water is sourced at the farm I wanted the water from initially?. Now, covid as far as I am aware is not water based, and the glasses will be cleaned afterwards...can anyone explain why this would be the case other than a money making exercise and possibly illegal? Shame really

We called in for a coffee midweek and saw that they now do Sunday Lunch. We decided to drop in for Lunch last Sunday. It was very busy with families, but we managed to find a table for two. Sunday lunches are £6.50 for large and £4.50 for small and we both decided on the large. The meals came out very quickly and I have to say that the staff are all very efficient. We decided on the beef and found the meat tender and plentiful, served with roasties, carrots and sprouts, very nice stuffing and a pig in blanket, plus a jug of gravy. Everything was very tasty and satisfying, with only one little niggle and that was it could have done with being a bit warmer, but this did not detract from us repeating the experience and would recommend, especially for the price.

called in for a Breakfast which was good quality product. Reasonably priced . My wife ordered brown toast but got normal sliced bread where i got brown toast with my Breakfast from a uncut loaf which seemed odd to me.

Love how in touch this place is with nature. Went here in summer so could sit outside and saw the chickens, goats and ponies. There were a few wasps around, but that's to be expected so we did go inside. Lovely inside as could see the cows. No foul smells or anything of that sort, which we were hesitant about but it was perfectly fine. The food was delicious and homemade and everything was a very reasonable price.

Our first visit was to a Lovely cafe great theme farm / cows plus especially the view window to see the cows,\nOur first visit was lovely in every way Clean, Friendly plus dog friendly and good food cake & coffee So we took a old aunt & Uncle for a lunch time treat , after I had talked about this gem of cafe a few Monday?s ago about 1.30 we visited so not rush hour. Many tables vacant but not cleared, staff just chatting to each other by counter to lady in kitchen.\n\nIt was very disappointing the floor was full of food possibly thrown from a high chair , which ok but when I asked the young waitress if she could clear the floor due to having the dog and not wanting to walk it around the cafe it seemed to much trouble plus she said it had been done earlier that morning by an infant so was aware it was there. She shrugged and didn't come back , so I said I?d do it and asked for there pan and brush at the counter. We then had to ask if the table could be wiped clean it was busy with a local walking group having drinks but hygiene is paramount.I am not a negative person but felt disappointed \nThen we had two pies that looked delicious when ordering but they had been mirowaved to long the guys left the pies the meat was two tuff to eat. A shame and waste of money and produce.\nWe would not return to the cafe such a shame such a completely different experience to our visit the Tuesday before Christmas such a shame. Hope owner keeps an eye on the running hope it was just a bad afternoon. \nThe farm shop we will return to very friendly guy telling us about his produce and items purchased very nice and prices good.
