Came to Millers barn with my partner and 3 children. Seems like they had hardly anything on the menu, no pasta, no pizza and no brownies. Kids went with a garlic bread starter which was a wrap cut into a triangle with a dollop of garlic(hardly garlic bread). Moving on to our mains, looks like we got oven fish which was very greasy and stale chips. My partner went for a smothered chicken which would have fed an infant!
The cutlery looked like it hadn't been cleaned in a while we had to wipe our cutlery the best we could before eating.
We never complain where ever we go as we don't want to cause a fuss however, my partner asked to speak with the manager yet he/she never came out to talk to him.
I wouldn't mind but for the price your paying there you expect decent quality food.
Me and my family will not be visiting again which is a shame as it's our local restaurant.
Shocking customer service and really nasty food.

Booked for Christmas lunch for 5 people, we paid £314.75 for the food. Arrived at our booking time at 5 pm, we were taken to our table and all looked good, 2 tables next to us were complaining and asking for refunds, and after 20 minutes of waiting for someone to take our drinks order our food arrived (pre ordered) and then another waitress arrived for drinks order, immediately after eating the second course arrived, wrong order came out, pigs in blankets missing off roasts, no one asked if food was ok do we need more drinks etc, felt rushed and amateurish with no one knowing what they were doing, ordered cheese boards, they came out with a few slices of cheddar and slices of apple!! 2 ordered crumbles but they got that wrong, all in all a very disappointing meal.

The experience at this restaurant on Christmas Day was nothing short of a drawn-out disappointment, marred by inefficiency and subpar service. From the moment we arrived, the cracks in their organisation were glaringly evident.
Having booked a table for 12:30 pm, we arrived shortly after noon and informed the staff of our presence. Despite reiterating?both at the time of booking and again at payment?that we required a ground-floor table due to elderly family members with mobility challenges, we were initially directed to the top floor. This oversight began a two-hour ordeal of waiting, during which updates were sparse and the promised accommodation never materialised. While the offer of apology drinks was appreciated, it did little to compensate for the frustration of such a long delay, with our party only being seated at 3 pm?nearly three hours after our scheduled time.
Once seated, further issues arose. Despite our insistence on a table with step-free access, we were eventually led to a location requiring navigation of stairs. This compounded the difficulties for our elderly family members and set the tone for what would become an increasingly disappointing meal.
The food itself left much to be desired. Starters arrived sporadically over a ten-minute period, forcing diners to eat at staggered intervals. Lukewarm tomato soup was a low point. The main courses, while served promptly, were lacklustre. Roast potatoes resembled burned, grape-sized nuggets, turkey slices were bland and uninspired, and accompanying vegetables were overcooked or burnt. Even the Yorkshire pudding?a quintessential element of the meal?was clearly frozen and reheated. Sauces were an afterthought, with no apple sauce available and no alternatives offered.
From this point forward, service deteriorated significantly. Plates were left uncleared for nearly 20 minutes, drink service was nonexistent, and we had to resort to the bar for refills. Desserts followed the same disjointed pattern as the starters, arriving over a ten-minute span, leaving little opportunity for our party to dine together.
Perhaps most frustratingly, the promised fourth course of coffee and mince pies was not delivered as described. Upon requesting them, we were met with apparent hostility from staff, and only four coffees were brought out, with no mince pies at all. The staff, clearly overwhelmed by the volume of Christmas bookings, showed signs of strain and frustration, which was unfortunately evident in their interactions with guests.
Efforts to escalate concerns to management were met with resistance, culminating in a particularly unprofessional interaction where a manager dismissively snapped their fingers and walked away with the comment, ?Class dismissed.? This added insult to injury, solidifying an already disappointing experience.
After spending over five and a half hours in the restaurant, we left disheartened and determined never to return. A refund was eventually issued, but only after a lengthy wait and insistence on our part. While the gesture of comped bottles of wine was appreciated, it could not redeem the day.
The underlying issue appeared to be a lack of preparation and support for staff, who struggled under the weight of too many bookings. While we sympathise with their plight, the outcome was an exhausting and unsatisfactory Christmas dining experience that left us questioning how such fundamental mismanagement could occur on a day meant for celebration.
Christmas Day is a time when expectations are naturally elevated, and every moment feels especially valuable. Poor customer service on such an occasion is particularly disheartening. While customers have countless options for where to spend their money, it is crucial for businesses to acknowledge when they have fallen short and take meaningful steps to learn from their mistakes.

My self and 11 other work colleagues were booked for a meal last night at 6.30 pm, around 4.35pm, our organiser was sent a message reporting that there was a very limited menu, listing supplier issues as the main problem, after reading the revised menu realising it left us next to nothing to choose from we all agreed to not attend Millers Barn! We are all very disappointed and dissatisfied with the way we were informed and how late it was relayed to us.
We had colleges attending that we off work that day so already travelling in from quite a few different distances only to be told of this, so as you can imagine we are all very angry with the way we were treated, and after reading an earlier review I read that you have been having supplier issues from at least 6 days ago! I think as we were attending as a large group that was prepared to spend a considerable amount to enjoy our evening. We should be compensated as basically a great evening that all of us were looking forward to was ruined by your miss management.!
The organiser of the meal was Mr Martin Brelsford c/o Partic Motor Spares.
I wait your reply

Not the best food and was our first time visiting which will be our last.

More than half of the menu not available as supplier issues have stopped delivery. Chef is doing best she can. Expected it to be busy but it was just about empty.

Stayed at Premier inn next door so had breakfast here. Michelle greeted us and explained the system. Self service eat all you want. Worked well for us. The food was really nice. There was a good selection for a fried breakfast. I'd go again .
Parking: It was a busy night but there were spaces available. It is a big carpark.

If I could give no stars I would, the food is absolutely diabolical ? went for a beef dinner and you could tell the roast potatoes were aunt bessies frozen ones, the Brussels sprouts were rock hard, I know veg is supposed to be a little hard because the goodness but Jesus's Chris I've never had Brussels so hard in my life!! The starter was amazing though I must say didn't have a pudding but a few who sat at my table did and they said it was nice and it did look nice tbh, if you're thinking of going for a Xmas dinner here then DONT because you will be disappointed!! I don't usually write reviews on restaurants I think I may have once but this place needed it, the staff are lovely though millers barn just need to up their food and they'll be sound because the place it's self is lovely too

Only had one meal so far. It was pretty good. No complaints. Staff were friendly.

Cold heated. It took 1hour to take the order and when it arrived the Brussels were inedible because they were not cooked. There was only two extra small slices of toast with the pate and we were charged for extra served.
In all we were there three hours. Will we be going there again. NO.
