A lovely welcoming pub with lots of outside seating, very dog-friendly, sitting in a lovely pretty village with nice walks from there with our dog. We had lasagne and chicken with leek and Stilton, the lasagne was a generous portion and clearly home made with loads of filling and a rich creamy sauce, the chicken was tender and succulent with a good Stilton flavour both were served with chips (our choice) and an added side of cheesy garlic bread oh and a couple of cold Guinness zero?s. Our food was tasty, hot, cooked to order and worth the wait. The dog was very happy with her meal too (natural boar dog treat available at the bar).
A great little pub with lovely food, staff and atmosphere well worth checking out.

We went for Sunday Lunch at The Crown and were very impressed. We had roast beef which was very tasty and hand carved quite thickly, it was served on warm plates (love this because so many places serve food on cold plates) with some lovely seasonal vegetables that cane separately in a dish and roast potatoes which were seasoned to perfection. The portions are generous and we did not have much room for dessert so shared a fruit crumble instead, packed with fruit and served with custard all piping hot. This is a traditional village pub with background music playing and no tv, a pleasant rare change nowadays, there?s lots of quirky bits and bobs around the place and you can see that there?s a great sense of humour there. Everyone was very pleasant staff and other people in the pub it has a relaxed friendly atmosphere.

Jason and Alison work so hard running this lovely country pub. As a local regular user of this pub, we think they're doing a great job! Their hard work is rewarded with greatful customers appreciating the great food and variety of drinks. We see regulars and new customers coming back for more. It's a great place to meet up with friends and meet new people, making a great atmosphere.
The Crown has something for everyone....and their dog!
'Proof is in the pudding' ? you will not be disappointed.

My favorite pub!
Great option of food and drinks with very friendly staff. The food quality and portion size is great as well. I can personally recommend the fish and chips as well as the crispy shredded beef and the Sunday Roast, however all other options are great as well.
Thank you Alison and Jason and see you again soon!

Sunday roasts are something of a weekly ritual for me, and I can confidently say this one has raised the bar.
The mear was beautifully tender, clearly carved to order, and full of rich, savoury flavour. The Yorkshire pudding was enormous, crisp on the outside and pillowy within?a showstopper in its own right.
Every element on the plate felt considered. Roast potatoes were golden and fluffy, seasonal veg was vibrant and full of texture, and the cauliflower cheese was bubbling and indulgent with just the right touch of mustardy warmth.
The gravy brought it all together?deep, glossy, and poured with generosity (always appreciated).
Service was friendly and genuinely welcoming, and the atmosphere struck the perfect balance between lively and relaxed.
If you?re looking for a Sunday lunch that feels special without trying too hard, this is the place. Already planning my next visit.

Went to The Crown Inn on Friday night for a meal with friends (a group of 4 adults), we booked in advance by phone. We had salmon pasta, pie, and two steaks between the four of us. The pasta had a lovely creamy sauce and plenty of salmon, the pie was big and packed full of meat (not the best choice made on such a hot day) our friends said their steak was very tasty and very nicely cooked. We all enjoyed the fluffy crispy chips chosen with pie and steaks. We were too full for pudding but had a couple of drinks each and we?re not rushed to vacate our table. The pub is a lovely old building with beams, it?s also cool in there on an hot evening and with a great friendly atmosphere from locals and staff. The men?s loo?s could do with a little updating as they seem a little tired in comparison to the rest of the pub. All in all a lovely visit and happily be returning.

Small cosy pub that serves a very well kept pint of San Miguel among other beverages , my pal and I had the fish and chips one of many various dishes offered on the menu , the ultra fresh fish along with the chips and mushy peas was cooked superbly by Jason the Landlord and chef, the portions were more than ample and the price very reasonable in fact cheaper to sit in a lovely environment and enjoy a meal rather than going to a takeaway fish and chip shop, the meal presented was better than very many chippies in the local area , the staff at the Crown Inn are extremely friendly and attentive and that was very much appreciated , this will not be my last visit to this country pub .I Highly recommend a visit .

Just had a Sunday Roast takeaway, the
beef was amazing, so much better than cooking and not much washing up.

Local gem! First impression was it is a no thrills kinda place from the look upon entering. But there is a great atmosphere from the chatter and laughter of the friendly locals who all say hello; lots of quirky little signs to look at; spot on, attentive, service and amazing food. The Tuscan salmon pasta was beautiful.
