Sorry to say this guys but my husband and I and two friends were in the restaurant for lunch yesterday we were very disappointed there was quite a lot not on the menu so three of us ended up with the fish and chips which were very uninspiring great big chips which weren?t cooked through so raw in the middle peas like bullets no mushy peas fish that was mainly puffed up batter we definitely won?t be coming back very poor!!

Dropped in today for lunch. Been a while since I last ate at the Prince Rupert. The food was lovely had a selection of small plates, tasty well presented. The halloumi was delicious. Great service from John. The refurb of the venue is brilliant, still got that trad pub vibe. 5/5

Went in here last Thursday. Not much of an atmosphere, did feel the place was messy and down at heel. Drinks prices are ridiculous for a gin and tonic and a pint of cider it was 16 pounds could have bought a bottle of gin for that

Incredible experience and we really enjoyed the historic feel. ? Fish and chips was out of this world and we went just after Christmas so the decor was gorgeous ?Dietary restrictions: Menu not always accurate/consistent with allergies so would recommend you double check.

Visited on a short break in Newark. Fantastic old character building not far from the castle. Very busy so recommend you book a table.

Nice meal and lovely atmosphere not a massive selection for vegetarians, for some reason they don't do pizzas anymore, which is a real shame as they were the best around.Vegetarian options: Not many to choose from but the choices were very nice

Back home from Spain, wanted a lovely pub atmosphere and food, and it really didn?t disappoint! Perfect home cooked food (rare nowadays) pies, sausage and mash with fresh veg followed by an apple crumble and custard dessert. Delicious! If I were to choose any aspects to improve it would be to top and tail the green beans..

Wonderful place to visit. The seating area was in a cosy room within the pub. Parking is a little difficult depending on the time of day. Access is not easy for wheelchairs. This really is a lovely building, and the menu is not huge. However, the food is of a high standard. The staff are very welcoming and friendly. This is a dog friendly place, making it a relaxing place if you want a place that feels like a country pub. Once inside, we were given a warm welcome and could have been in the middle of nowhere enjoying the food and company in the room. Well worth going to.

Great place! We arranged a Hen Do meal here and were given a room to ourselves. Food delicious and very reasonably priced, staff lovely! Would highly recommend. ?

Walked in to try availability for food on Sunday 26th November, staff were lovely, pleasant, friendly and helpful! Had a Sunday roast and it was outstanding and very flavoursome, beautiful, very filling. Thank you for accommodating our walk in.

Friendly and attentive staff. Food was amazing, proper homemade traditional dishes. Small details made all the difference, eg food served on pre warmed plates and drink service at your table. Will be back.
