Went in to try and order, got told to sit outside and someone would be with us. Several staff walked past without taking an order and seemed more bothered about meeting and greeting their regulars/mates. Baffling.

Very good breakfast, Lincolnshire sausage was lovely, apparently local butchers. Good value for the price and we were both absolutely stuffed by the time we finished. Will definitely visit this cafe again as we need to try the cakes lol.

We ordered a ciabatta with cheesy chips and coffee. The coffee machine was broken, there were no chips or ciabattas We settled for one pannini to share and after waiting over half an hour with only a cup of tea, gave up and left.

Popped in for a quick lunch while in town as saw Home Made soup on menu! Lovely to have a choice - I chose Carrot & Coriander which was really tasty, and came with generous helping of crusty brown bread. Neighbouring table had the Broccoli soup, and she seemed to like that too!
Very pleasant service too

Over priced pathetic meal. Ordered the 'Open Ploughmans with salad' which consisted of what appeared to be 3 slices of packet shop brought ham, 3 small slices of cheese, rocket lettuce, onion chutney and 4 thinly slices of tomato on two slices of ciabatta bread. And 3 small blobsof mustard. £8.50. A small portion of fries for £4.10. And a glass of d.coke for £4.90. When I asked where they brought the ham from the chef confirmed it was butchers ham. It tasted watery, definitely not ham from a butchers. I took it home for the cat. Used to be a regular customer 5 years ago, told the staff I certainly won't be going there again. Would not recommend to anyone to waste their money on the place.

Located right in the central area of ??the city, The Bean And Vine is a cozy place, excellent service, everything was perfect, the Banedicts eggs were by far the best I've ever had in my life.

My husband and I decided to start our weekend in a relaxing way so went for a nice cup of coffee, but going to this cafe turned out to be an unpleasant experience. The two young blond girls who served us today(April, 6th) were moody, didn?t smile for a second, and looked at us in a rather unwelcoming way. It seemed as if they were forced to be there.Who on Earth had the idea to hire these two unprofessional staff? We don?t recommend this cafe in Newark. What some businesses need to realise is that customers are looking for the whole cafe experience otherwise we would have coffee at home. We won?t come back!

Went for some lunch with friends and was underwhelmed by the menu. Specials have No visible prices nor do the cakes, probably because they charge extortionate prices on these items or just make it up as they go along. Food took an awfully long time after having to ask if the order was even put through. Extra items on receipt. Staff or what I assume was the owner brings the place down with an awful attitude and rudeness. Terrible atmosphere. The place was filthy unwelcoming and overpriced! Will not be returning!
