Brought £20 of scratch cards for Father?s Day only to be cheated. It?s not about the money, it?s the principle.
Before fathers day I went to get £20 of scratch cards. Thought I had to go to the tills but the lad told me they don?t do it on the tills anymore and that I need to use self checkout. Fair enough. Goes to self checkout and I have an employee working the self checkout area and multiple times throughout my transaction she hopped in and helped and was even watching me as I was sorting it.
Came back yesterday 13/07 to be told ?the cards say they?ve not been purchased there?s nothing I can do sorry.? I then explained how I did it I said ?I came in, they had different barcodes so to make sure they were individually activated I scanned them all each.? To be told by the employee ?no, you shouldn?t have done that, you?re not supposed to do that.? Then explain to me why you?re colleague last time I came in was helping me multiple times and was watching me and said nothing if that was not correct? If I wasn?t supposed to scan individual barcodes and each barcode is different how is scanning a different barcode going to activate the others with a different barcode? That makes no sense. Hence why I individually scanned them. Why Did she help me and watch me scan them each and allow it. I even made a joke when I was mid scanning them that the scanning was taking a while in a laugh. To which the employee laughed back. Why wasn?t I informed then that it was incorrect and wouldn?t work when I come back? Not only this when I was told I couldn?t get my money. Additionally, an employee said ?oh not surprising? to the situation when his colleague told him the issue. If it?s ?not surprising? and you know about the issue with scratch cards deeming them self ?unpurchased? then why are you not helping me? If it?s an issue you know we?ll of, why aren?t you helping? I?d never treat my customers this way. Couldn?t you find the transaction or check cameras and call me back on my number once resolved? It felt like you didn?t really do much about it whereas at my work place. I would?ve gone above and beyond but these guys didn?t seem bothered. I needed a receipt apparently which from before fathers day I can?t tell you I have the receipt now.
At this point I just care about how the situation was dealt with and how I was treated, so overall 0/10 for service. Completely unbothered. Wouldn?t see me like that at my job. If it was me I would have emailed tech support or someone high up or asked for their contact details and I can check cameras or transaction through the system. Might explain why I?m doing better for myself than you guys I suppose. That attitude gets you nowhere.
Edit!!! Funny how the scratch card company told me they were active and I should?ve been given my winnings. Bunch of scam artists

Really rather none efficient staff on a daily basis.
Whilst, always friendly, there is a huge lack of quick efficiency when waiting in line for the checkout. More so than not, there is always a large line waiting to be served? only ever one person on the normal till and one who just stands near the self service checkout.
Never once, do they come over to use the 2nd checkout till to help minimise the wait for customers, which could be well over 5 minutes.
Not really good enough.
