Sunday lunch today epitomised attentive, but not intrusive, service; perfectly cooked, attractively presented, and most flavoursome fare in ample portions; and in elegant surroundings with great decor and ambience. We will return soon: indeed we've booked for afternoon tea in a fortnight's time.

I recently had the most delightful experience attending the gingerbread decorating workshop, followed by a charming afternoon tea at the pub. It truly exceeded my expectations ? a magical and elegant afternoon in every way. The homemade treats were not only beautifully crafted but also absolutely delicious. Such a wonderful treat! I can?t recommend pub highly enough and can?t wait to return with my husband and daughter.

We went in for some food over the weekend the staff here was not welcoming at all. As it was our first time coming they were not helpful and was quite rude. We won?t be returning in future

Exceptional food and great service. We visited the Wheatsheaf restaurant for lunch - and the surf and turf burgers and ostrich burgers were stunning. The black cherry and dark chocolate bread and butter pudding was divine. Will 100% be returning. Thoroughly recommend

We came to celebrate my nephew?s 21st Birthday on Tuesday evening and everything about our experience was 5 star. The guy who was looking after us was so attentive and incredibly helpful throughout the whole evening, the food was absolutely delicious and I cannot rate this pub high enough. Thank you to everyone who made it a special evening.

What a lovely little pub and restaurant! Staff friendly and attentive. Food? well it was absolutely delicious? the food came out freshly prepared, piping hot and served with a smile. Highly recommend a visit

I really liked this place. Didn't stay in the bar/pub but it looked great. The restaurant was spot on! The food is incredibly tasty. The chefs work in a open kitchen and looked super calm and it really adds to the eating experience. We loved the ravioli! The steak was cooked perfectly. The spong pudding was TASTY! Drinks where goooood. The service was calm and collected.. nothing was a hassle and every just felt really pleasant

Our first visit as it?s equidistant between us, 90 minutes drive. On entering, a warm welcome and it soon became clear that this place was a bit different - every member of staff seemingly in a good mood and enjoying their jobs. A rare thing. Three ordered open sandwiches - my steak was perfectly cooked medium rare - and one the twice baked cheese soufflé, The food was excellent and the service matched it. The impression I left with is that this group of people are experienced and work so well together. The time our food took from kitchen to table was seconds. Highly recommended and booking is essential.

A wonderful venue, amazing top quality food (compliments to the chefs), beautifully presented and tasty. First class service from our Waiter Luke. 4 of us attended for a Team pre Christmas get together, very very impressed, we can all thoroughly recommend The Wheatsheaf.

We came for afternoon tea and it was absolutely delightful. They do accommodate special requests, and the food - sandwiches, scones with jam and clotted cream, and desserts - were all delicious. Service was impeccable.
