Good food friendly staff nice place

First time coming here, we bought our eldest daughter 11 and our youngest 4 months old for lunch. We were seated quickly however it took them 30 minutes to take our order and a further 30 minutes just to get a coffee. We almost walked out before the drinks arrived. Our waitress was running around and two others were barely doing anything however when we asked after 15 minutes of sitting without anyone taking our order the waitress said she?d get the other waitress to come to us, while she stood there watching over her tables. Very frustrating watching two waitresses standing around, one even said hello to her friend on the square while we waited 40 minutes for a coffee. The food took ages to arrive too. Because of how long it took we barely got to eat before our 4 month old started crying and we had to leave half of it uneaten. It?s a real shame because the waitress was friendly and the food was great but the service was so slow and it ruined the entire experience.

Outstanding service and food for our silver wedding anniversary. Chris and Megan could not do enough both ahead of and on the day itself. The food was excellent, the setting perfect, and the customer service first rate. Recommended wholeheartedly.

Tried number 16 a year ago and it was terrible, had to complain about all three courses. (Still had to pay in full!) . A year later really wanted to try it again and it was amazing. That good we invited friends to try the steak as it was brilliant, I even had to ask if the rump steak was actually a fillet as it was that good All four of us ordered the steak. How disappointing, all over cooked and a very different piece of meat from last time. I complained and my steak was changed but came when the rest had finished so had to eat mine when the rest had finished and was not much better than the original over cooked piece of meat that I had before. Ruined the meal and the experience. The front of house staff were amazing but the chef had let them down by serving poor quality over cooked food. Is it that difficult to cook a steak?

Had a really nice meal here with family, and I had the Hummingbird cake afterwards which was delicious! Everyone else thoroughly enjoyed their food too. We spent quite a long time waiting to order (although it did seem busy) and had to catch staffs? attention a couple of times for things, but once we were served they were lovely and friendly - just could have been a little less waiting around!Thanks it was a good visit :)

A strange one this... Firstly I thought that the venue was really nicely decorated and set out inside and secondly the food was of a good standard with a decent coffee.
Though I wouldn''t return to the venue because of the service. The best way I can describe it is that it's someone who you've upset in the past and now has a bad attitude towards you. It was a very strange experience. It was doubly strange because the staff member acted different to other guests.

Staff are very friendly and welcoming. The food was great. I had a burger, but it?s a real burger, not Just some mass produced fast food, chips were lovely and the tables are in the town square. All in all, a lovely experience

It?s the first time we?ve visited Number Sixteen and we had a fabulous time! The decor / colour theme / crockery is beautiful and the aesthetic is modern and very slick, which we liked. Their booking system is efficient and the team are professional and attentive. I enjoyed the vegan breakfast which was delicious and full of flavour, expertly presented and you can tell that the chef has passion and experience in the kitchen! I also had a Pimms (rude not too!) which again was garnished beautifully and made very well. We had a lovely time and thank you for a wonderful experience! We will be back soon!

Met the lovely Megan at front of house. Myself and becky had breakfast brunch, all locally obtained ingredients. Would definitely have this again. Shall hopefully return soon. Thanks Megan for being a great host. X

Dined here for a friends birthday and the service from start to finish was impeccable. All the staff are so friendly and the food is without a doubt 5 star. Can?t wait to go back!
