Great pub, friendly staff and great food. If you want to experience a proper village pub then this is what you need! It also has a great outdoor area for those sunny days and heated huts for cooler evenings.

My husbands 74th Birthday. Surprise meal for him. Booked in advance due to 11 people going, phoned thru our choices a few days beforehand. Extremely helpful, polite and caring staff. On arrival, everything was perfect, the food came out piping hot and everyone was served at the same time. After the meal, the birthday cake we supplied, was brought out by all the staff, and everyone sang to him, it was a very special night made even better by the staff and the pleasant atmosphere. Hubby was diagnosed with Dementia a few weeks ago and I wanted this to be special, to make memories. We did. Thank you.
Parking: The car park is at the rear of the building. A few cars were parked at the road side.

This is a must eat place. We were very impressed with the pub and food. We visited on a Thursday evening, arrived at 1830hrs, and most of the tables were full. There was a steady stream of people eating over the 2 hours we were there, this is a sure sign that the food and staff are good.
We had the homemade pie and three beans chilli con carnè, followed by waffles and cheese cake, I couldn't fault a thing!! So pleased we found this Gem, never knew it was there!! Well done team, we will be back!!
Vegetarian options: There are two vegetarian options on the evening menu. I noticed vegetarian options are available on Sundays.

From the minute you arrive until departure an experience of service was exceptional.
The ambience and atmosphere and hospitality of staff was outstanding and the food quality was superb. The location is kept in high standard of cleanliness and the outside area was one of comfort, space and well maintained.
Sunday lunch and afternoon drinks was an absolute pleasure to enjoy. Extremely Highly Recommended.

We were turned away from the Staunton Arms because we had a dog and didn?t want to sit outside. What a blessing that was. We rediscovered the delights of The Durham Ox. The food is excellent and very reasonably priced. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. If you have a dog or not we can thoroughly recommend this pub.
