We came to the Anchor on New Years Day. We were told in advance that on that day they were only doing a roast dinner. Have to say that I was a bit reluctant to go in as I knew they didn’t serve real ale. However, a group of 5 of us ventured in on New Years Day around 4pm after a long walk up to Humbleton Hill. Great pub exceptional food the rooms are clean fresh and cosy. Chris and Jeff do a great job running the place loads of nice friendly locals I can't fault the place
