We have just come back from a weeks stay at Riverside in Wooler. This really is one of the best Caravan parked I have ever stayed at. It?s our third visit and loved every stay. The caravan are really very modern equipped with everything you would need excellent Wi-Fi free of charge. The caravan are in a lovely setting and the ground are very well maintained. It has a little shop on site and a excellent clubhouse house just over the road. Which also serves excellent food. All the staff at the caravan Leisure centre are all very pleasant and will help with any problems not that we have ever had any. The caravan park is also in a great location to visit everywhere on the Northumbrian coast.

We stayed in a wheelchair-access caravan, which was perfect, in a very quiet area. Had something to eat in the Riverside Restaurant, which was very good. If we ever come this way again, we'll stay here.

The camp itself is immaculate, well kept and the caravans are lovely, the issues lie with the entertainment venue. Upon arriving for a bankholiday weekend we arrived at the entertainment venue at 8.45 only to be told the bar and venue has called last orders and was about to close. This was a Friday bank holiday! As more people arrived they were refused service? Eventually as more people arrived the bar staff re opened the bar, as for entertainment on a Friday bank holiday there was none. On the Sunday after having a meal and drinks in the venue at around 9pm we were handed paper cups and told to decant our drinks into the cups and leave the venue. At this point around 9pm the lights we switched off and we were left to sit in the dark! I had to ask the staff to turn the lights back on to use the toilets. After coming to the camp for many years we feel the lack of entertainment or commitment to the customers was clearly lacking, this was also the case the previous visit although we thought we woukd give the camp another opertunity. Unfortunately we were wrong to do so as nothing had changed. If this is what it's like on a bank holiday weekend id be very causias of going during a quite period. We will probably not return in the near future until the entertainment and venue issues improve.

Went to the Swimming Pool located through the Arcade the process was easy and hassle free . After swimming myself and my nephew decided to get some food . The most amazing chicken wings ever my nephew couldn't get enough. Staff were amazing nothing was too much to ask for . Would definitely recommend fun for all the family and a little gem in the loveliest place Wooler.

Arrived and was given pitch 16, the furthest pitch away yet I emailed to ask for a pitch near the amenities as disabled. Once on pitch I photographed 10 lots of mess (dog) they tried to tell me it was the ducks, but it wasn?t?.and why was it only on my pitch. Litter also on pitch. Rand reception and someone came and cleaned it. Decided to try the restaurant, ordered Sausage and mash, waited 30 minutes then it arrived dry and as hard as anything. Sent back, bar staff was lovely, says it?s not normally like that but they have a trainee chef. Waited 45 minutes for new meal to arrive, wasn?t much better. The mash was still very dry so I?m guessing it was powdered. The gravy still had lumps of granules not whisked proper. Decided to cut my losses and just ate the sausage. Toilets for campers needs looking at and cleaning, was in awful state. Certainly won?t be using them on my stay. Also the restaurant, entertainment and swimming pool are advertised as on site, they are not. It was a walk and then cross a busy main road on a tight bend. Not safe for me on crutches. Very very disappointing so far and I have another 4 days

Had a brilliant week at Riverside. It?s a lovely clean and spacious park. The staff are friendly and helpful. Special shout out to Scott (complex manager). Emily, Emily and Jodie (Ents team) for their boundless energy and great shows. Tip: ask for an entertainment programme when you arrive, unsure why it?s not included in the welcome pack?

9 nights on a touring pitch. Overall ok. quite cramped pitches even if you have a large pitch like we had. No fully serviced pitches but water points plentiful. Bins are only at the entrance which is annoying for such a massive site. Touring facilities ok regards pot wash area and washing machines. Personal wash facilities are well in need of updating and very dirty. Don't think cleaners ever lift the mats on the floors in the showers, they were disgusting. The showers are also very small with no dressing area without getting everything wet. As for entertainment and food at the so called bar and grill I'd give it a miss unless you love undercooked microwave meals. Go to a pub up in wooler if you can get in any. Think the whole site goes so busy. Although the holiday was ok I wouldn't visit again or recommend.

We arrived for a week long stay and stayed in the Sage 2 static caravan. Travelled with our two children (12 & 11). Upon arrival we were greeted by a very friendly lady on reception. When we arrived at our caravan we were impressed with the location, appearance and space inside. The little welcome box of goodies is a super nice touch. We also had a friendly security chap come and check we were settled in ok and whether we needed anything. Again, a nice touch. The location is perfect! We visited Bamburgh Castle/Beach, Alnwick Castle, Edinburgh, Newcastle, Seahouses and Coldstream. Honestly there was so much to do and see. We couldn?t have picked a better location. The park itself is beautiful, our children loved a paddle in the stream, loved the park and we loved the local ducks that would waddle outside our caravan each day. We wanted to use the washing/dryer facilities but at £8 for both, we found this quite steep. We didn?t use the swimming pool but did unfortunately use the Riverside Restaurant. The food was foul. I sent my mac n cheese straight back and got a refund. Save your money and pop to the local shop for a ready meal. Seriously. But overall we had an absolutely fantastic week here. We wouldn?t return, not because of anything in particular, we just like to explore. But you won?t be disappointed if you come here for a holiday. We loved every minute!

My husband and I stayed here in an Ivy caravan with our daughters who are 7 and 4 months. The site itself is lovely, very spacious and green and the three play areas are fantastic, our older one really enjoyed these. Early on a morning there are lots of bunnies around which was lovely. It?s useful to know that the pool, entertainment areas and bar are situated out of the site and over the main road, so for us this was a 15 minute walk from our caravan. On site by reception there is a small Nisa/Coop selling essentials, and a laundrette which costs £4 to wash and £4 to dry which we thought was very expensive. Our daughter went to one of the sessions maki g slime which she enjoyed and the staff were lovely and very welcoming. We didn?t go to any of the other sessions so can?t comment on those but there was a nice range available, if you wanted it. The pool was very crowded and possibly overbooked? My husband said they could barely swim for how busy it was, so that?s something to consider if you?re there in school holidays and are wanting to actually swim. The two main things that let this place down, for me, was the state of the caravan when we arrived and the practically non existent Wi-Fi. When we arrived, I noticed that the mirror on the wall above the electric fire had a big black, melted, burnt area. I found it odd that this wouldn?t be automatically replaced but assumed that it had happened with the previous people and the cleaner had not noticed it. I?m not sure how you could miss it to be honest. I emailed reception a polite message just to make them aware so we weren?t blamed for it, and I did ask for it to be replaced as it looked really unsightly. I never received a response to this email which was disappointing. Two days later, staff did arrive to replace the mirror, but it would have been nice to be acknowledged by reception particularly as there are messages on the map, the welcome paperwork and in the caravan all encouraging guests to contact reception with anything they need or concerns. The caravan was not clean. I?m not even overly fussy or likely to notice minor things, but it really felt like it hadn?t been cleaned properly. The table was sticky, and the underneath of the washing up bowl was so dirty that thick black dirt came off when I wiped it. Worst of all, after a few days when I removed my bed?s flat sheet to wash it, I discovered loads of black dirt and grit/stones all over the mattress, like someone had been on it with muddy shoes and the sheet was just put on top of it?! For balance, the caravan was comfortable, spacious and the beds were comfortable. Everything worked and the kitchen was kitted out well. I was really pleased that it had a full size fridge freezer. The Wi-Fi is terrible. It seemed like it was actually turned off at times and this really impacted on being able to plan for the next days trips etc. This really needs improving. I?m undecided whether we would return. It?s a lovely site with a lot going for it, but to have a dirty caravan and terrible Wi-Fi for the money we spent just felt really disappointing. Aside from this, we had a lovely week in fabulous Northumberland and will be back, just possibly somewhere else!

First time at Riverside, Wooler and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We had a sage caravan which was spotless. The whole park seemed beautiful. The entertainment in the Riverside bar was perfect for our 3yr old with the party in the Playden, the girls got everyone involved. Ate out one night at Milan restaurant up in Wooler which is only a short walk, again lovely. Loved it so much we've already booked to return.

The pool is small but the team work hard to make it work. Some of the reviews are misguided the pool does have rescue equipment including a spinal board I read a review that's states they don't however I can assure you they do have the correct equipment on site some more staff may help them along but I don't like people been dishonest to make things look bad when they are not. The site is well maintained for the most part some areas could do with and injection of life to modernize but for the most part a very clean and tidy site. Staff were fantastic and friendly we will be back for sure. Great location.

The swimming pool is very small and only allows so many people in at once , prices are ridiculous , no safety bored ( pxb board or rescue board ) anyone was to injure them self I don?t have a clue what they expect to do with only 1/2 people watching the pool, the staff in the bar/restaurant area are super friendly and helpful however the staff for the swimming pool shouldn?t be working there, Highly recommend you don?t go there unless your very confident with your swimming skills

Absolutely horrible site, advertised as full/partial serviced pitch, it was neither just water behind someone else?s van, the so called hard standing was covered in grass, they pack the vans in, profit before people, when we arrived our friends have a twin axle van and had to go in on a angle to get the front off the road, when we asked if we could move we were told basically it was too much trouble, we were opposite proper hard standing pitches that were empty when we arrived but still told ?it would take too much trouble to move us????, not impressed when they put litter camper vans on these pitches, dogs barking, not on leads, and the toilet disposal was very very grim, disgusting in fact, bins overflowing, 3 showers and 3 toilets, all disgusting, the laundry area dirty, as someone else said Chavvy, the bar and restaurant was overpriced, food not nice, AVOID THIS SITE IF YOU WANT A NICE HOLIDAY!!
