We found this place to be somewhat of a surprise due to some of the mixed reviews. My girlfriend and I called in for some fish and chips on what seemed like a busy Saturday night. We were served in and out in roughly 15 minutes, which in my opinion is reasonable due to how busy it got. Everything was cooked fresh and served piping hot by the time we got back to our lodge. It wasn't the best fish and chips we've had, which may seem like a negative judgement, however, it was still of good quality and we'd happily order it again when in the area.

Ordered a volcano pizza. Base and crust cooked to perfection. Nice and thick and just the right amount of spices. Best I've had in a long time.

Food was decent though a bit pricy. Good portion sizes and nice sauces.Unfortunately the service was friendly but extremely slow- we waited nearly 40 minutes for food and we only ordered two items. Perhaps ring ahead to pick up rather than waiting in the shop.

Simply terrible. Stopped there tonight and chips were soggy, greasy and cold and the king rib tasted of months old cooking oil. Avoid!

Stopped here for fish & chips on our way up through Wooler. Fish was very nice, chips were good. Served in a card box. Staff were pleasant.

Can't comment on the food as I rang to order. A lady answered and told me to hold before leaving the phone line open for me to hear them serving a few people. I stayed on hold for over 10 minutes listening to them. They weren't too busy to take my order but left me on the line regardless. Whilst on hold I had the time to check the shop across the road from them to see if they had all the same items on my order. They did so I hung up and ordered from the competition. Fry Fry, you just missed out on a huge family order.

Fish and chips, how can you mess up chips awful, as for the fish it was battered in leather tough as old boots. Never again

I was worried at the low score but took a chance as had a hankering for a fish supper. So glad I did as it was absolutely scrumptious, massive fish in lovely light and tasty batter and gorgeous chips, some of the best I?ve ever tasted. Nice friendly staff too so very pleasantly surprised.

I am a visitor to the area and I wouldn't recommend this chip shop seems to be alot of staff but you still wait 10/15 mins for just chicken and chips. Chicken wasn't cooked nice, curry sauce like water nah go find something else to eat don't go here I'm glad I'm just visiting ?

We have been on holiday in the area for a week and have used Fry Fry three times trying most of their food. I have to say on every occasion we have very good food. Last meal we had was the large donor kebab and chips, being from down south I cannot believe the size of the portion. The portion was more than big enough for two. I would recommend giving them a try if in the area as I would say extremely good value for money.
