Absolutely brilliant! An amazing experience and a must place to visit. Beautiful building and displays with a brilliant cinematic commentary of Ad Gefrins' past. Also an extremely nice restaurant. All staff are genuinely nice, informed, and courteous. Well worth a visit.

Had a meal in the bistro on Saturday night. Great food, lovely staff and a fair price.

This is a splendid little Anglo-Saxon museum, probably worth the slightly adventurous £10 per person admission for the opportunity to spend time talking to experts on their subjects. Clever audio visual presentation. There?s a distillery tour too, ambitiously priced, and a nice-looking restaurant.

Our first visit even though we're local. Really surprised how interesting and enjoyable the distillery is and will definitely visit again, if only for the great food in the bistro! Well worth a visit!

Ad Gefrin is an incredible experience that blends history, culture, and whiskey. The museum is fascinating, offering a well-told story of the Anglo-Saxon people who settled in the area and their lasting legacy. The building itself is stunning?modern yet rooted in the heritage of the region. The whiskey tasting was both fun and entertaining, with knowledgeable staff who made it enjoyable from start to finish. A must-visit for history lovers and whiskey fans alike!

My wife and I spent 4.5 hours at Ad Gefrin yesterday combining the tour of the distillery with lunch in the Bistro and then a visit to the museum. Gordon was a guide on the tour. His knowledge and humour made it thoroughly enjoyable. Bob took over in the tasting room who again is incredibly knowledgeable. In fact, we met Bob a few days before when we just dropped in by chance to check things out. After a very informative chat, we booked a tour. The food in the Bistro was absolutely superb. My wife had the blue cheese salad followed by a fruit crumble. I had the lamb stew followed by crème brûlée, my all time favourite desert which in this case was made very special with the inclusion of Ad Gefrin whisky. The ambience, service and food was just perfect. We are returning in a couple days to try the evening dining experience. We then had a look around the museum where we met a guide, a lady who was an archaeologist involved in the recent dig at the nearby Gefrin site at Yeavering. Her knowledge of the Anglo Saxons was amazing. All in all our time at Ad Gefrin was such a fantastic experience that I decided to benefit a member with the many benefits that bestows. Oh, and I did buy two bottles of their superb whisky and a bottle of delicious Flyte whisky liqueur.
Thank you everyone for a wonderful time at Ad Gefrin.

A surprising place. It looked almost closed but we were pleased it was open. Rather than a pub or informal bistro it was much more in the fine dinjng category. Full silverware and sit down dining with attentive waitstaff. The menue was good and the charcuterie board and main dinners, ox cheek and halibut, were spectacular.
Also had a whiskey flight, just because. Yes this is a wonderful surprise, as it almost looked closed.
