Excellent scones, cakes and coffee. Lovely ambiance, with bare stonework and solid fuel stoves. Outdoor courtyard for sitting in good weather. Dog-friendly.

Me Mam came here for a crab sandwich yesterday and a glass of prosecco, first of all everything is over priced, eg £10 for a glass of prosecco and £13.90 for a sandwich and the Ukrainian member of staff got the order wrong when we told her numerous times and to top it off they never give us any lemon mayo and the sandwich was dry due to this.

Bertram?s Walkworth is a fantastic Hotel ?
My Mum stayed at Bertram?s on 13/8/25 for two nights and all the staff were so kind to My Mum and her little Dog ?
Mum stayed in Room 2 a special Dog ? friendly room and the female member off staff who checked ? Mum into the Hotel was particularly helpful ? and kind ?
The rooms ? are fantastic and we had evening meals ? both nights which were absolutely delicious !!!
I would highly recommend Bertram?s if you are planning to visit Northumberland ??

We thought we'd try our luck and walk in. We were put on a waiting list amd asked to wait outside. One hour later we enquired why we weren't being seated, only to find that they crossed our name off the list. As earlier reviews stated before this one. The service is poor and the food is not worth the wait.

I was so looking forward to celebrating my birthday with family but unfortunately I was put in a dirty corner outside, forgotten, given shop bread not sourdough - maybe it wasn't a good idea to go on a Sunday in summer!

There was a queue to get in and we were asked to wait outside. We were forgotten, three sets of people who arrived after us went in before us. When asked the lady said we were not on the list, she showed me the list and I pointed us out. They then sat us at a table and forgot the cake we ordered, when asked about it we were told, oh sorry we don't have any of the Victoria sponge left, sorry, someone should have come and told you. Other people were then served before us who arrived after us even when seated, it seemed that they were not happy that we had spotted their error. Our 2 year old was given a boiling hot babychino and I had to go to the counter to get cold milk to add to it as the waitresses were to busy. All in all poor customer service.

We?ve been visiting Bertram?s every time we come up to Northumberland on holiday. Unfortunately today?s visit was unusually poor. Service was terrible in fact. A young lady took our order of 2 full English breakfasts (not too difficult) and 2 coffees. My wife?s arrived 20 minutes later but no sign of mine. We sat and waited over 5 minutes for mine to arrive but as no staff were walking around my wife went to the counter to ask if mine was on its way. They hadn?t put my breakfast through to kitchen so another 15 minutes wait for food and my wife?s breakfast heated up for her. Another family arrived next to us and nobody came to take their order for 15 minutes, the lady got up and went to the counter to order food and came back saying to her husband that staff were just stood about talking. Very poor customer service and no apology. It?s not as if it?s a cheap greasy spoon type place either. Defo need to improve or people will start to drop off.

2 choices of gluten free cake and coffee is excellent. Seating inside or outside in the pretty courtyard. The lemon cake is excellent
