The bar, beer garden and Indian restaurant food were all okay, however the hotel room was very dilapidated and the pillows were so smelly we had to cover them with the towels provided. Smelled like they hadn?t been cleaned. We couldn?t bring ourselves to sleep under the duvet due to the smell and just slept on top of the bed in our clothes. TBH if we hadn?t both had a drink we would have left.

Ate in the restaurant here, the Indian was lovely (it is a separate business) however the pub less so. It is split into 2 sections- a restaurant with a small bar and a bigger room that is just a bar. When we went, on a Thursday at 7pm, the bar area was completely empty but instead all the locals were drinking by the bar in the restaurant. This is when the noise started. At first it was just mildly annoying as they were all singing along to music but then it turned to just plain disrespectful. They turned the music on the speakers up so loud, that my 12 year old daughter said she could physically feel the floor shake. We had to shout to each other to be able to hear. The men who worked at the Indian were clearly distressed even though they tried to laugh it off, as this inconsiderate racket (which they said happens regularly) was clearly bad for there business as no one wants to eat somewhere which will end in them getting a migraine (like my husband did). We looked around to see what the staff were doing about this to find out that the chef/manager was singing along and she and numerous others were vaping inside. Which is illegal! The bar staff looked annoyed as they realised how inconsiderate this all was- in a restaurant! But they couldn?t do anything about because the chef/manager couldn?t care- in fact she was contributing to a lot of the noise. Will never be back which is sad because the Indian food (and staff) were very nice, but we do not want to be eating in the same restaurant as those idiotic, inconsiderate, disrespectful menaces of society.

Waited 15 minutes to get our drinks, even though I could see them on the bar within minutes of order. After that, over an hour wait for food. For 2 x carvery, 2 x pork sandwiches and 2 items from the kids menu - nuggets and bolognese. (Which they made for us despite not offering kids menu on a Sunday - so thanks for that) Unacceptable wait times. Especially when you have 2 starving kids, aged 5 and 3. Carvery seemed half decent, great gravy! My pork sandwich was more bread than filling, fries were good though. Children's meals fine, just took far too long. You have to wait to be called to the carvery bench, meat drying nicely for the hour we watched it. Tons of staff doing what, I'm not sure, but friendly and polite enough. We also happened to be there at end of carvery service (sat so long waiting for our order) and staff were turning people away while helping themselves to the rest of the carvery. Seemed a little 'unsavoury' - sorry. Our serving staff member asked if it had been worth the wait, I had to honestly say "meh." She also apologised at the end for wait times - fair play, but it helps little after a poor experience.I can't comment on the rooms to stay in and I reckon its great in the bar for watching the footy and having a few pints but I wouldn't return to the restaurant, it was just a bad experience.
