TLDR: We chose the Courtyard because it had great reviews and was dog friendly. We?re up for the weekend with two dogs (managed to leave the kids with the grandparents). We had a wonderful evening and it lived up to every expectation. This place is brilliant! Staff are very friendly and attentive and the food was fantastic.
The exterior looks great. We arrived after dark to see the whole place illuminated with stylish up lights. The internal fit out looks great. Elegant, minimalist and modern but still warm and welcoming. Love the exposed look (floor boards from the ceiling above, RSJ, and copper pipework) with the parquet flooring. With the welcoming staff and live music we immediately felt welcome and comfortable.
The tables are nicely spread out. Lots of places pack you in but we had plenty of space. This was particularly good for us with the dogs. It meant they weren?t in the way and other customers didn?t have to be close to them, unless they wanted to come and say hello ?
The food was fantastic. My wife and I shared the queen scallops with focaccia bread to start. This was at the recommendation of our server. Using the bread to mop up the sauce from the scallops is a must! We both had the game pie for main. This was just perfect. Rich and full of flavour without being over powering. A large portion without being over facing and with a beautifully deep sauce. Very grateful for the wine recommendation from the maitre d, which was great.
For what we had I thought the price was very reasonable and was good value for money. I look forward to coming back when we?re next in the area!

Very good all round . Must admit a very good venue to wine and dine. A place not to be rushed.

Four of us had a main course and dessert - celebrating a 70th birthday. It was our first ever visit and we thought it was excellent. Everything was absolutely gorgeous! Could not fault the food at all. We had Game Pie, Venison, Fish/Chips and Chicken Supreme followed by 2 Bread Puddings and 2 Rhubarb Frangipane - not a crumb left on the plates!! Atmosphere was good - the place was full but not loud, just a nice cosy feel. Our waitresses were great (Reiko and Olivia), absolute assets to the restaurant - nothing too much trouble! Definitely worth another visit!

Went for dinner last night for the first time. Really impressed to say the least. A lovely addition for pegswood and the surrounding area. Party of 4, ordered a selection of starters and mains. Had the monkfish, really well cooked. Monkfish can be dry if overcooked but it was cooked beautifully, a really nice dish. Not pricey, reasonably priced considering the ingredients on show. Polite, efficient service. We'll be back

Can?t knock this place for gluten free food - Matt obviously knows his stuff and can easily make adaptions to make majority of meals/extras gluten free. The lamb just fell apart and tasted amazing, massive bit of fish which went down a treat and to be able to have gluten free onion rings was a highlight - we loved them!
We were sat next to the door which I thought would mean there?d be a cold breeze, however this was not the case. A small annoyance was the huge dog on the floor next to us, although well behaved it was just in the way for staff/customers, especially as tables are close together.
For the meal we used a £100 voucher we had received for Christmas, however our meal came to £74. Unfortunately we had to use the whole £100 or forfeit the remaining balance. We were too full for anything else so added a bottle of Prosecco for £26 and brought it home. I do think you should be able to use voucher again, especially as it?s valid for 12 months. But hey ho!
