Comfortable country hotel with lots to see within easy reach of the hotel.Food & drinks: Not fantastic. Very ordinary and disappointing. Not fine dining as described in newspaper.

We stayed in December on a Winter break, everything was excellent. The room was lovely and the staff could not have been more helpful and dog friendly. Will definitely stay again.Walkability: Very close to many excellent beaches.Food & drinks: The food was delicious and a great selection of drinks at the bar.

Stayed on numerous occasions over the last 12 years and always found it a very pleasant place to stay. However this is the first time we have stayed since Paul and Claire took over and it has to be said that they have provided a much needed "breath of fresh air." There is a fantastic improvement in respect of the bar/lounge area, which now has more atmosphere and although the food was fine before, it is absolutely superb now. The staff cannot do enough for you, we were really well looked after and although there is evidence of "work in progress" in particular the dining room being renovated, the work went virtually unnoticed as there was no inconvenience whatsoever. We will certainly be staying at the hotel again.Rooms: Room was fine for now. with no complaints, but we were informed that room refurbs was the next project, so things can only get better.Nearby activities: Nice coastal walks and a good golf course plus a local pub nearby with "characters."Safety: Nothing detrimental to say in respect of this, the fire exits are well marked and lit as one would expect.Walkability: There are walk in the area for serious and casual walkers along the coastal route and/or bridle pathsFood & drinks: Plenty of choice on the menu for food as superbly prepared, mega compliments to the Chefs. The bar prices are excellent for a hotel with plenty of choices.

Really nice inside and the fish finger sandwich tastes amazing and is huge. Staff lovely and they alow dogs.

My husband and I enjoyed a lovely meal on a Monday night in December. The lounge was cosy with a log burner and nicely decorated.We both had pies. Two different kinds and thoroughly enjoyed them. My husband enjoyed one of the local ales.The staff were very friendly and welcoming. Our dog was also welcomed. Definitely worth a visit.Couldn?t comment on the rooms as we didn?t stay overnight.

Didn't stay so can't rate rooms. Just used the bar for drinks. A nice cisy bar with log burner. Ideal for conversation with other holiday makers. Good price and excellent selection of beers, lagers and spirits.Staff very helpful.

Superb food - we stayed there three nights and had breakfast lunch and dinner and were never disappointed. Good selection of local ales and the menu has local seafood and fish.

The staff are excellent. So pleasant and helpful. Lovely local ales on all the time. Huge beer garden and very dog friendly.Burger and Thai Fish Curry were tasty but the Mussels were disappointing on our visit. Good value for money....

Every year we stay in a cottage across the road but going into the hotel each day as they service breakfasts. It is a very dog friendly establishment, one of the best in fact. We find the staff to be excellent and always happy and obliging.

Rubbish after sales service said they would sort things out never heard a thing from them after that, they were going to refund me for the terrible fish and chips but even after phone calls still nothing I wouldn't have thought it would be so difficult to do takeaway fish and chips

We were looking for a place to grab Sunday lunch and boy were we not disappointed! The meat and veggies were cooked to perfection and the portions were spot on. We got the lamb and the beef and it was heavenly. After we had cleared our plates, we had a look at the dessert menu and we're advised the chef makes amazing cheesecake, so it would be rude not to have it! Eton Mess and a gingerbread cheesecake ordered and two very happy people! Compliments were sent to the chef!Service was amazing with hardly a wait for our food. The wait and bar staff were super friendly and welcoming.Only thing I can't rate on is the rooms, as we didn't stay there but we'll definitely be back!12/10 would recommend to everyone!

Not the best! Very average food, no atmosphere but friendly staff. Although they said it was fully booked there were only one other family in the dining room, so it lacked atmosphere. Food was very basic, not quite what we expected from a hotel that had lots of reviews.
