Heading for breakfast on a Tuesday morning we realised it was too early for our usual breakfast stop in Wylam and we Googled places nearby that would be open for 8am.
No. 19 came up as a search result and the photos looked good so we set the sat nav and headed over not really knowing what to expect but needing a cooked breakfast!
We were immediately impressed by the Close House Estate when we pulled into the grounds. Well maintained, good parking and everything was well signposted and easy to find.
We were seated in the largely empty restaurant which slowely filled up while we were there. Lovely open room with large windows over looking the surrounding golf course, pond and woodland.
The decor is modern and clean, with nice architectural touches and plenty of space between tables.
We chose the full English Breakfast and Eggs Royale. The full English was well cooked, presented and tasty. The Eggs Royale was a classic, with well balanced flavours and a very good hollandaise sauce.
We had a latte and an americano and both were tasty.
Service was friendly and attentive.
Having found No.19 almost by chance we are keen to visit again and try their lunch and evening offerings. A nice spot to enjoy a good meal in a pleasant relaxed environment.

Food quality and cost at #19 is quite frankly disgusting.
75% of the 20oz stake on a slate went to Kaiser the dog.
The £35 merlot I wouldn't have paid a fiver for and the half pound of mussels, well, hardly anything like I've ever tasted in Spain!

Chips were nice once triple cooked in blood and Rioja!

Just had a family festive meal here this evening-large mixed group. Third time we?ve been for a family get together. Tonight the food was lovely, the young staff were professional and very friendly. Couldn?t fault it.

We just have sampled the Festive Menu at No19.
The food was really delicious and everything perfectly cooked. The service and staff were friendly and efficient really a great experience .

Lovely setting.
Delicious roast - very tasty beef.
It was just enough for me and meant I?d room for dessert but if you like big portions you might need to order the extra Yorkshires and cauliflower cheese.
Friendly staff.
I thought the tables and chairs/carpet could?ve been cleaner - crumbs which should?ve been hoovered up. That?s my only criticism.
Nice treat for Sunday lunch in a pretty setting.

My family thoroughly enjoyed the festive menu, absolutely beautiful food and presentation the same, massive compliment s to the chef. Staff there are meticulous and very attentive to guests treating them with fantastic individual needs. We have been here lots of times and every visit has been the same. My son had his wedding night at No. 19 and my husband plays golf here which hosts the most fabulous course. Looking forward to visiting again soon also I?ve booked tea for two for my mam. Everything about close house is stunning especially the bacon sandwich early doors prior to golf

Haven't been here for over 10 years and I have to say nothing has changed...atmosphere very welcoming service was first class and the food was outstanding, highly recommended can't wait to go back for an evening

First time at no 19 restaurant, great venue very good afternoon tea. Lovely food, good selection of sandwiches, scones and cakes. Clean and tidy restaurant, good bar staff. We were lucky to have a hot sunny day. Lovely DRIVE to this restaurant. Would we return to this restaurant again.

Lovely return visit, this time for afternoon tea with fizz. Great value, well presented, friendly staff. We had a nice table on the terrace on a sunny day and gorgeous views. Feels like a treat to visit but good value

My wife rang early this morning and managed to book a table for us for Sunday lunch today. Probably thankful for the fact that Newcastle Utd were playing later and lots of potential customers were going to see the match. Anyway. Arrived in good time. Emily, our greeter and server was friendly and efficient. Lovely girl and had a nice table for two for us inside, overlooking the Swans nest outside. Nice feel about the place. Drinks served double quick and then we ordered two Roast loin of Pork dinners. The food was gorgeous. Plenty of it and cooked to perfection. After eating we sat outside for a while to finish our drinks before driving back home to watch the ?Toon? win splendidly against Man Utd. A lovely day, spent in your classy restaurant. Look forward to coming over many times this year now that the weather is improving. Thank you to all.
