Been getting my lunch here most days each week for a year now and it?s always absolutely exceptional! The food is so fresh, delicious and filling every single time, plus Carlos and Nicole who own the place are so lovely and always made me feel at home, happy to cater to any suggestions or customisations I wanted! Best food in Haltwhistle with fantastic service, couldn?t recommend yellow bird enough :)

We came to this little cafe in the heart of Britain as we had heard the food was delightful and the village was lovely. 100% accurate on both counts. Chef Carlos has a great imagination and it shows in the special sandwiches and desserts served. The sandwich I had was a chicken, ham, and avocado with garlic mayo on toasted white bread. My wife had the butternut squash falafel wrap with whipped feta and pickled beets. Chef's lovely wife Nicole extends charm and grace taking orders and dishing friendly conversation. We finished our meal with a slice of lemon icebox pie with a crust of ground digestives. It was light and delicate with a delicious taste. We walked around the village loving the smiles and friendly greetings of the village folk. Walking along the banks of the Tyne is beautiful and we visited the sites of Vindolanda and the Roman Army Fort along Hadrian's Wall. The museums are well curated and the sense of historical awe was powerful. This visit was a highlight of our trip to England from California.

I was looking for a quick lunch in Haltwhistle, I didn't want to buy a supermarket sandwich. I spotted the cafe on the main street, I was greeted warmly and was pleasantly surprised with the choice of sandwiches. I ordered a Pastrami, sauerkraut pickle and mustard mayo sandwich, this was made for me. It was very tasty, something different for a change.

Got here just before closing time. Such a friendly, welcoming place. Food & tea was good, but the service made it. Happily come back to a cafe where the service is this nice.

Visited yesterday, lovely, delightful place, takeout menu was great, sweets and cakes looked fabulous, (diet prevented me from trying any), had a Falafel wrap and partner had 3 Quesos on Sourdough. Sat in a layby further along the road and ate like kings. Great food. We'll be back!!! Que rico!

We arrived by train and needed a place to eat. We saw the good reviews for The Yellow Bird Cafe and decided to give it a try. It did not disappoint. The food and service were excellent. It was our favorite meal during our visit to the UK.
