I came here on 17th Jan 2026I have a complicated allergy. My food was cooked in a freshly washed and cleaned pan. They couldn’t do enough to help me . The food and service was the best I have ever received . Shame I don’t live closer I would be a regular . I can see why they are an award winning cafe . Thank you for you understanding

A friendly little cafe, which apparently does much to support their local community.
Tea for 2 and my wife had a delicious freshly baked blueberry and lemon scone - all for £6!
Would definitely recommend.

I popped in this morning for a coffee and I was delighted to be served with a very hot and strong cappuccino. A lady was just putting out freshly baked scones so I purchased a pizza flavoured one. My bill was less than £6 for both which seemed very reasonable. I have just had it for my lunch and honestly it was absolutely divine. Light and full of flavour. My two dogs were made very welcome too which was a bonus.

Outstanding meal and atmosphere! Lovely quiche of the day and a house made veggie burger with real chips! Nice cup of tea to go with. Also made an order for a takeaway breakfast for the next day! Excellent all around!

Went hear on easter Saturday what a great wee cafe,really good prices,and a good variety on the menu,food was nice and fresh and also they sells Real chips!! we really enjoyed it Well done

Brekkie for all the family this morning. Top notch quality, including the best bacon I've had in a long time. Washed down with a great pot of tea. Lovely family run cafe.

Fantastic service, great food and the coffee is hot.. so many places I have been to and the latte is just warm.. reasonable prices that won't break the bank.. 100% recommend this cafe. Lovely owners and great staff, very friendly.

Had boxed Afternoon Teas X4 prepared to take with us when visiting family today. They were fantastic. Lovely selection of delicious, freshly made cakes, scones, sandwiches and quiche. All really scrumptious, loads of it and fantastic value. Highly recommend. Thank you so much.

We called in to the pillar box cafe on a Saturday morning had a pot for tea and homemade cheese scones, which was delicious. Then the following Wednesday we called in and had the same because we were looking at the possibility of moving to Haltwhistle. The owners of the cafe are very kind and friendly. We felt as though we had come home. Haltwhistle has all you need including a outdoor swimming pool( April to September). We hope and pray God will watch over you all.

Friendly and dog-friendly! A warm welcome on a wet day, with delicious home-made food. Would recommend the cheese omelettes.

A very kind and welcoming place for a solo traveller. Good solid food..not quite so sure about the cappuccino but the Malteser slice was great
