We went for Sunday lunch and weren't disappointed. Everything was cooked perfectly and also very flavoursome. Really good value too, thoroughly enjoyed it.

Great little village pub, just off the market square in Haltwhistle. Good beer always recommended. A good place to wait while to have a drink while you wait for the takeaway curry is prepared over the road!

We recently visited Halwhisle. And were lucky to come across this gem of a pub. A quality traditional pub, great atmosphere, great food. And the staff, we're the perfect hosts. And really nice friendly character's. We can't wait to visit again. Highly recommended.

Lovely hidden gem in the vicinity of the centre of Britain (sic!)Beware pub (bar and eatery) is full, which is to be expected with great places.Nearby activities: Being the centre of Britain (I'm sure there must be a few), it's quite a trek to nearest historical site, Hadrian's wall and all it brings with, being the main, absolute plethora of walkable and cyclable trails, more churches and castles than one can count, and north pennine park few miles away one has to be a bookworm or digital junkie not to find what to do...Food & drinks: Absolutely exquisitely tasting home cooked meals served inore than generous portions that don't break the bank.Sunday roast was irresistible, however to minimise the waste we've asked for a takeaway of what we couldn't manage.Service has a smile for everyone, and selection of hard liquor is vast, variety of beer spans Europe...Noteworthy details: This dog friendly pub is finished in dark wood presumably oak, walls are decorated with a range of pictures, great music and 2 coal fireplaces make you forget the existence of time.

I?ve been in this little jem a couple of times and I can?t fault this place lots of old fashioned atmosphere great ales and the staff are amazing. A typical example myself the wife and friend plus our little dog Alfie couldn?t get a taxi back to herding hill campsite so the manager said no problem I?ll take you back what a gentleman.

A perfect pub. It has everything; dark, old wood interior, a fire, history, character, good selection of beers and spirits, and it's popular and lively. I could have stayed all day. The people of Haltwhistle are very lucky to have this treasure as their local.

Called in for Sunday lunch. Pub was very busy with local people. We were made very welcome and the food was delicious. Dog friendly and an open fire on. Just what we wanted after a walk.
