Stopped off for a pint which was well kept and very welcoming after a long walk on the wall. Didn't stop here or eat so can't comment but the menu looked very nice and substantial.

Absolutely loved this placed! I was doing the Hadrian wall route and had just made it to the inn 15 minutes before closing just really looking to warm up and get a beer. Spent the next few hours chatting with the owner and a couple local guys over some drinks. It 100% made my entire journey the best experience. Will definitely go back as soon as possible.

We found this placexquite bu chance but so glad we did.The bar staff were extremely friendly & helpful. We asked for their menu recommendations. I had the chicken with cheese & bacon sauce, with new potatoes & seasonal veg. My husband had the recommended fish & chips, we both cleared our plates. We sat in front of a real coal fire too, a real treat. Can highly recommend ?

Had some really nice food and drinks at the Milecastle. The fires were a lovely touch making the place feel very homely. After a day of walking what a great way to end the evening.

Not good, Googled this place for dog friendly pubs... Drive 8 miles and got there, then as you walk in. There is a sign saying no dogs inside. So yeah, you're welcome to purchase the overpriced food and drink to sit outside in the cold....This place is not dog friendly and shouldn't advertise as such. Also, it's not safe to sit outside as the beer garden (a few tables in a car park) is right next to the main road.

Great tea, really kid friendly and loads of options. Well priced, good size portions and the staff were lovely. Ten minutes walk from Herding Hill Farm but along the road so we drove - took 2 mins. Gorgeous area.

Booked a table for 2 last night. We arrived early but were taken straight to our table.I had the pie of the day. It was lamb and mint. I swapped out the mash for chips. 10/10 for the pie, chips and vegetables. All cooked perfectly. If I could have changed anything, it would have been to serve the gravy separate. My partner had the mac & cheese. He said that was good too but did have food envy. Luckily for him the pie was so big and the chips plentiful the had some of mine too. After we had eaten, the table next to us ordered. They asked for the special menu. We were not aware of this as it was our first visit. There was something on the menu my partner would have probably chosen had he known about it.Still dose not detract from the 5* and will definitely book again next time we stay in Haltwhistle.
