Staff friendly, food abysmal. Tried to overcharge for wine. No ketchup... easier just to avoid
1 star for the food was generous

Really poor experience here at weekend. The food was at best underwhelming and at worst poor quality/ awful. The wrong food was delivered to me and my partners food was delivered cold. It was reheated and returned but ultimately all hugely disappointing. The waiter / server handled our complaint accordingly and we agreed to compromise on what was worth paying for (not a great deal), without any further fuss. We won't be returning and clearly not recommending.

For the price, I expected more. It was poorly executed pub grub. Belly pork wasn't rendered down at all and was unpleasant to eat. The potato rosti wasn't seasoned at all. On the plus side, service was good.

Do NOT eat here. It?s awful. Everything was bland. Meat was not cooked nicely and potato rosti was a sad soggy lump.

Great for a drink or snack pre/post golf.

Wonderful. We were really worried about previous reviews and, to be fair to reviewers, when we first had a look at the Linden Tree ( we were staying in the hotel) we were told that 2 items were unavailable. We decided to 'risk' it and booked a table. So glad we did! The food and service were superb. We had 'nibbles: of mini scotch egg and sourdough with onion butter. Starters were whipped goats cheese and liver pate. Mains pork belly and fish of the day - hake. We have spent 40 years eating all over the world and, honestly, this meal was up there in the top 20. So I don't want to invalidate other reviewer's opinions but would suggest that you just go for it!

Scotch eggs, prawn cocktail, lasagne and lamb rogan josh not available. Had the chicken which was tasty.

Came here while staying at the Hall for 10th Wedding Anniversary.
Menu not the same as online with slot of items missing including some best sellers according to the server which started the alarm bells going off.
Starters where ok, not fantastic but not terrible, prawn cocktail was average but massively overpriced for what it was.
Due to lack of options we ended up getting burgers with additional cheese and bacon at £21 each and simply put, you get better burgers at weatherspoons or McDonald?s, burger tasted way to salty and bun was falling apart and the burger sauce was terrible and on its own way over salted (not sure how you manage this)
Deserts tasted and looked store bought and not homemade which added to the disappointment . Service was ok, wait times where ok. But we had to ask a server for our 2nd drinks despite a few of them walking past our table
During our main with our empty glasses on side.
Inside is lovely but there was only 10 people in when we visited so not full or busy.
Overall with 3 courses each, 2 pints of cider and a gin & tonic and 1 coke was close to £120 for 2 people which for the quality of the food and service was a massive disappointment and will not return for this reason.

We?ve been stopping here en route to Edinburgh for around 40years. The service was atrocious, waiting 30 minutes to be served at the bar. We had soup and a coronation chicken sandwich. The soup was ok but the sandwich was badly served and tasteless .

Horrible behaviour I witnessed where Ethan Young spat on a young child with autism. Absolutely outrageous behaviour to see
July 2024 by Alex Prem
Food was nice. However, the staff member Ethan Young spat in my soft drink. The rudeness! All I asked was if we could possibly have a different seat as there were several babies and kids screaming and crying and my little brother was scared due to his autism.
Wheelchair accessibility: Ethan Young kicked me out and confiscated my autistic little brother's wheelchair. He said it was a dangerous hazard.
