No craft beers available, appears they all broke so I was offered a bitter! Went for a bottled IPA. Does this place have new owner???Limited starter choice so I went for the dessert cheese to start with.Very underwhelming with what tasted like lidl bottom shelf and only two options, a blue cheese with no strength and what seemed like a mild cheddar. This place used to be a showcase for local cheeses but no more it seems.When I raised the issue with the cheese board I was told sorry I felt that way.I ordered the steak pie and changed the Creamy mash with hand cut chips. All looked great when it came but oh my God the crust was so hard I had to stab the crust to cut into the pie. The filling was good And everything else but I've been coming here for over 20 years And this has to have been the worst meal I've ever had And it just feels to me like this place has now lost what it had which was pure quality. You know it didn't matter how much it really cost it was the fact you're going to get really good food. I felt like I was now in a Charlie chalks or a Brewer's Fair and that's not what the selling point of this place is. It's such a shame because I don't think I'll be back now!

I had a very nice stay at the anglers arms. The bed was very comfortable with very nice pillows. The breakfast was high quality and they left me homemade chocolate brownies and water in my room. I would definitely stay again!

Stayed in self catering cottage. Basic and sparsely furnished but very clean. Deal included breakfast in the main hotel which was very good. Kitchen delivered hot evening meal to us in the cottage free of charge. All staff were lovely. Great atmosphere in the bar too.

Me and my family visited anglers today for my mums anniversary. The food was delicious and the service was excellent. The waitress was pleasant, attentive and helpful. The only negative comment is that it was quite cold in the pub. However that would not stop us from returning.

Booked for New Year's Day lunch some weeks before, only to be informed on arrival that only brunch was being served. Very disappointing not to have been informed earlier. Shall not return.

Excellent traditional pub. Ignore the poor reviews. I live overseas and returned to the UK for Christmas so this was a little gem of Northumberland that was very welcome to come back to. Service good. Food good. Real ales even
