Had a fantastic day here with friends from work, my massage was done by Emma S and she was very kind and made me feel at ease as it was my first time having a massage. Would highly recommended, Very kind staff, great customer care. 10/10

This place is insane ??? Unbelievable that it's in Seaham - so unexpected.During my trip, I went every day to the pool, gym, spa, sauna, salt sauna, hamaam, outdoor jacuzzi, lay around the pool doing my admin...Go!

Positives - The hotel is very well appointed. The lounge and bar areas are wonderful in decoration with open fires. All very clean. Food is nice but over priced in the main evening restaurant. Breakfast is great with a full range with everything you would expect and very tasty. All staff were great, polite, welcoming and attentive. My room was clean and well decorated. The bed was very big and really comfortable. All corridors smell nice and are clean. The overall feel was one of plush with a hint of old fashioned wood panelling on the corridors and lounge area with large sofas and wingback chairs.Negatives - the spa pool area is not relaxing as the place seems to attack family?s with children, so loud and lots of splashing more like your local swimming pool except with nice loungers and a bar! The jacuzzi was broken. Going by the other reviews on google looks like it?s been broken for a while. Very disappointing they haven?t got round to fixing it considering the amount you pay and the amount they must be making in profit.Not enough steam rooms as it?s a very busy pool area. There is a children free time but it didn?t fit in with us as it was in the middle of the day when we were out sight seeing. The actual spa rooms where they do the treatments looked very relaxing and calm.Over all would come again as nice hotel break but wouldn?t come if looking for a nice relaxing spa.

Had my nails done which came off pretty much immediately didn't even last the day. Couldn't find half the stuff they needed. Place generally dated. Way overpriced.

Overall, don't waste your money here.Treatment and staff were all lovely, nice massage and started off very welcoming. The set meal lunch included, was limited but it was nice. However, the positives end there.The "spa" was not a relaxing place to be. It was full of screaming children and drunk adults. A hen do bullied us out of the jacuzzi before we even had been in for 10 minutes. The selfish group then proceeded to hog the entire thing for the best part of an hour, getting more drunk as they knocked back more and more drinks. The steam room was broken, and the sauna stuffed with people. It was impossible to swim due to all the people in the pool splashing and thrashing around.I was going to bring my parents here to celebrate their birthday's, but I couldn't think of anything worse. We will never be returning. If i wanted such an experience like this, then I'd just go to my local swimming pool.

We been before and had a good time so 4 of us booked together early so we could all get our treatment times together but not enough staff so had them split up Shortage of robes and when we did get them one had no belt and one had a hole in.Could not fault the massage it was excellent.We upgraded to afternoon tea would you believe it no English tea at all in a large hotel like this so that was a good start so had to have another type of tea which was awful.Brought the pot of tea 10 mins later the milk then 5 mins later brought the food.My sister has allergies so they brought hers out separate but 10 mins later came running back in as they had included cakes she could not eat.Will not be going back there again

Have just visited Slaley Hall for a relaxing spa with my partner and grandma, the treatments we received were absolutely wonderful and we could not fault them at all. The rest of the day was not so wonderful, the ?relaxing spa? was full of kids jumping in the pools, splashing you and running round. My Grandma had went in to the relax room to chill for a little before our meal, 6 kids found themselves in there with their parents screeching on, was not relaxed at all. We paid to have the 3 course meal which had very little option unless you paid for extra, I myself ordered a Caesar salad which came which when arrived was a bowl full of leaves, a few strips of chicken, some croutons, and anchovies which was completely disappointing. There were 3 Women on reception when we arrived, 2 extremely helpful and the third who served us was incredibly rude and in my opinion, should not be front of house at all. For someone who?s experience this was for the first time at a spa, it wasn?t great and I won?t be returning.

Slaley Hall was lovely, the food was delicious but the spa was very disappointing. Tiles missing, not particularly clean and just generally not as 'grand' as I expected!

We had a very disappointing spa trip yesterday. This was supposed to be a relaxing day to celebrate my sister's upcoming wedding and the afternoon before we were supposed to arrive our treatments were cancelled. We thought we could still use the facilities but almost everything was out of order and the pool was overcrowded. We weren't provided with towels or robes as they had ran out and the staff didn't seem to know where anything was. I can't fault the staff providing the afternoon tea. I wish we could have been informed of how little there was available sooner.

Would strongly NOT recommend this spa. Was an absolute nightmare from the minute I booked. Never got a call to confirm treatment times, had to call myself and the lady had no clue what she was doing. Called back a few weeks later to reassure myself the treatments were booked and they weren?t. Then received a courtesy call few days before spa day to be informed my afternoon tea upgrade was still not booked. On the day of the spa, I received an email at 6am saying my afternoon tea booking was cancelled so I had to call and sort that out to which I was informed was an ?error?. Travelled 45 minutes to the spa in the snow to be informed at reception all the treatment times had been changed AGAIN and there were 4 hours between my partners and mine treatments and my afternoon tea time has been changed again. I was sent to the pool whilst my partner received his treatment but wasn?t given a robe as they had ?ran out?. Got to the pool to find all the seats taken by couples and groups so no where to sit. Left the pool area and went back to reception to ask for a refund on my spa treatments as the whole day was a disaster. Woman on reception was rude and the day was just dreadful. Now having to wait for a refund from spa breaks as booked through them. Save your money and go somewhere else!
