Tucked away from the hustle and bustle of Corbridge's busier tourist centric main streets, Il Picollo is a local favourite for its authentic Italian dishes and friendly owners and staff.
Visiting for the first time with someone who hasn't been to Il Picollo before, we asked the chef to surprise us with the starter and main of their choice.
And what a good idea that was! The chef's recomended starter was Octopus in a light yet flavoursome tomato sauce. Full of delicate flavours and cooked to perfection this was a perfect introduction to the authentic cuisine the restaurant is rightly famous for. The main was a fillet steak in cream and Stilton which exploded with zesty flavours which comllimented but did not over power the perfectly prepared steak.
A wonderful experience and one we hope to repeat. Hightly recomended

Lovely little hideaway , much like the TARDIS this place was bigger on the inside, comfortable seating, well situated tables giving space to dine , the staff were very nice and perfectly attentive, the chef made an appearance to great some regulars and both seemed delighted to be doing so, my wife and I both had a pizza but the menu was quite extensive and a separate specials board looked also fantastic. Food was excellent and incredibly tasty with very fresh ingredients. If you are near do pop in you won't be disappointed, very good value for money . Nice atmosphere

Had a lovely meal last Saturday lunchtime
Food was very tasty and piping hot. The pork belly was delicious as was the chicken in a herb and lemon crumb.

Had a fab night here last night. The food was pretty exceptional. King Prawn started delicious, lobster and crab tortollone main perfect, washed down with a quality Primitivo and finished with an affogato. Service just right. Belissimo! Thank you guys.

I came here on a Wednesday ( first night of the week opening) . We were so amazed by the choices and quality came back to try other choices on the menu. Definitely come back when i come up here again
