Arrived later on a Monday evening. Food (steak pie) I ordered was obviously microwaved. The creamy mash was just one lump of creamed cardboard. I picked it up and the blackened base made a knocking sound on my plate. Oh dear.

Have been here a few times on our holiday here - both for a drink and to eat - and I have to say that it?s been a consistently good quality. Service is friendly and efficient and food is definitely at the superior end of the pub food spectrum. Sunday lunch was great (and HUGE) and the lamb shank shepherds pie and toad in the hole were both super. Nice selection of cask ale and a decent wine list. I?ve been disillusioned with Greene King since they destroyed Loch Fyne (an annoying tragedy) and a couple of poor pubs. This place suggests it is all about who owns/manages the individual establishment. And these folks are good.

Such a great little place. The food was amazing and the service was great. Our server Aeryn was very welcoming and friendly. Definitely worth a visit if you?re in the area.

We booked a table at 9am with our two kids. Staff made it clear they didn't want us there at that time. Told off for being early at 8:58?
Toilets stank. Tables were sticky. Food took over half an hour and we were the only ones in. Not a smile or hello from the waiting on staff.
Would not recommend for breakfast. Go to the bakery round the corner!

We had an acceptable meal here. I had a chicken burger that was deepfried so long by the time I picked off the thick layer of batter there were a few scraps of chicken rather than the chicken being the main part of the burger. Told staff member and he couldn't be less interested. Yes said OK and asked how everyone else's food was. So I didn't exactly have a good meal but the rest of my group seemed to enjoy theirs.
