This Inn has to be one of the best yet! Food and service were brilliant. The Inn is gorgeous! Wonderful large car park for the motorhomes and nothing was too much trouble for the staff and owners. Breakfast was out of this world - Well worth a visit xx I think that Mandy Tritton needs to visit more appropriate stays for her money. i.e. Redcar or Skegness!

Ok we?ve been here before in our camper van - foods nice a bit pricey for what you get - OH paid I asked to see receipt - they are now surcharging for the overnight parking of camper vans £12 a night - no signage no notification when we booked in or booked a table - our bill now came to over £95 for 2 starters and 2 mains and 3 beers and 2 wines and a couple of blackcurrant and sodas- sorry we don?t mind putting money into local economies but this is the last time we will be coming here- as I told the staff when I queried this charge (oh it?s a new thing they said) I?d be telling everyone in our social media groups so no one else gets caught- usually in camper van pub stops if there is a charge you get vouchers towards your meal or it is a charity donation- it?s a tiny cramped car park with absolutely no facilities overnight (or after the pub closes @ 9pm ish tonight). What really got me were the people who were paying and not getting receipts so it would not have registered with them - hence this review

Great Sunday lunch great service. Only thing I didn't like was the red cabbage as in my opinion it didn't go with the roast or my taste buds but others appear to like that.

Cobwebs everywhere in the roof, dirty window ledge, food was very oily. Didn't enjoyed it one bit Didn't eat it.

What a lovely place to stay. Everyone was so nice. I arrived early and the owner gave me a free coffee which was so nice, then the young lady helped me with my bags as my partner was finishing 8 days of the pennine way and this hotel was a treat on the last day.,,, and boy it was a treat.
The food was outstanding, I asked for a child's portion of scampi, wow everything was 10plus in my eyes. My partner had the meat pie and he couldn't finish it all and he had just walked 24 miles and was hungry.
We had breakfast included and yet again the food was outstanding. Anything you wanted, they would freshly cook, and there was plenty of everything... what a joy it was staying there...

Great Sunday dinner! Did a detour from Scotland back to Newcastle for lunch and we'll worth it.

Had a delicious Sunday lunch here. They serve until quite late on Sunday which suited us. Friendly service and space for a few campervans to stay over in the car park. Pennine pale ale was very good. Dog was made welcome.

Our visit in June 2024 was one of the highlights of our 2-week trip to the UK. We showed up before check-in time (our fault) and our room wasn?t ready, but Gary and Carol welcomed us like family and served us a pot of tea while we waited. What a delightful and charming couple! The room was clean, quiet and comfortable. We enjoyed an amazing dinner with dessert, and a fabulous full breakfast the next morning. When our Uber cancelled, Gary was kind enough to take us to the train station. Blekinsopp was one of our best memories of our trip.

This place is just extraordinary. From the moment we entered the door we were impressed. The interior design is cozy, comfy and modern. The Sunday Dinner was exceptional. Yes, really. I had mouth -watering pork with apple sauce, red cabbage, turnip, broccoli, carrots, new potatoes, gravy and Yorkshire pudding. Compliments to the talented chef. The wait staff are top class too. Also, the relaxing music complimented the mood perfectly. We highly recommend Blenkinsopp Castle Inn in Greenhead. The accommodationis also top quality.

We didn't actually stay in the Inn, as we were travelling in a camper, but the owners allowed us to stop in the car park overnight if we brought food and drink which we did, and it was superb. Lovely grounds, very quiet, and the owners were absolutely lovely.

Excellent food! We dined here twice in one week, whilst on holiday. Staff were very friendly and attentive. First we came for the Sunday Roast, late in the day, so expecting it to be past it's best but it was wonderful, fresh and very tasty, the generous portion of beef was full of flavour and melt in the mouth. The pork had amazing crackling too. Second visit was just as good, tried the steaks, couldn't fault anything. Final point, the prices are more than good value, with such an excellent chef, worth every penny and more ?

Delicious Sunday roast. Then we decided to come back for a steak and were amazed how good it was. The owner/chef is marvellous. We highly recommend.

Fantastic food, fantastic people. Stayed with a motorhome for one night and eat a lovely steak in the restaurant. Gary and Carol, the proprietors, were very welcoming and the ladies staffing the bar delightful.

I don?t normally leave a review however after my recent experience I feel I have to.
Myself my wife and pet dog visited this beautiful castle restaurant.
I telephoned at 1700hrs on Thursday 27th March 2025.
We arrived at 1900hrs all excited and looking forward to a wonderful meal however things started to turn sour when we arrived.
Unfortunately this is what happened.
When we walked in to the restaurant we were not welcomed and greeted. I walked up to the member of staff and informed her that we booked a table for two her reply was I?m afraid we haven?t got you down for a table she then proceeded to show us a table.
When we sat down we where given a menu no wine menu and we asked if we could have a glass of wine the waitress went away and bought us a bottle of wine which we refused then she bought two glasses and then we ordered our meal which was a starter and two 10lb stakes one medium and the other well done.
After a short while we got the starter and two steaks.
On inspection of the food one steak was rare which was mine and the other was rare to medium.
We didn?t want to make a fuss so we started to eat them I got half way through the steak and couldn?t finish it.
My wife had two attempts and felt sick so she couldn?t eat hers we gave the remains to the dog.
That was our experience with the service and presentation unfortunately whilst we were eating the locals were packing out the restaurant as there was a quiz night.
We were interrupted twice while we eating by the quiz master asking if we were enjoying our meal.
My wife being disabled with no where to move as we were squashed into the corner it was loud and an unacceptable experience.
We both finished our meal and couldn?t wait to get out of there away from the drunken locals.
We paid our bill which was a bit sickening as start to finish was an unacceptable experience.
I would recommend people take note of this review and think before booking.
